Title and Summary Senior BizOps Engineer Overview We’re looking for a BizOps Engineer I to drive DevOps automation, CI/CD excellence, and production readiness across Mastercard platforms. This role blends problem-solving, automation, and site reliability engineering to ensure our systems are resilient, scalable, and secure. Key Responsibilities Operational Readiness & Site Reliability Ensure application health, performance, and capacity. Partner with development teams to design fault-tolerant systems. Lead incident response and blameless post-mortems. Establish monitoring and alerting strategies to minimize downtime. DevOps & Automation Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines. Automate manual processes and reduce operational toil. Promote software through environments with operational gating. Advocate for DevOps best practices across teams. ITSM & Risk Management Engage early in the development lifecycle to ensure production readiness. Manage change activities to enhance customer experience. Drive compliance and risk mitigation across environments. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience. Strong coding/scripting skills (Java, Scala, Python preferred). Experience with distributed systems and troubleshooting. Passion for automation and continuous improvement. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Kafka Expertise (Required) 3–5 years of hands-on experience with Apache Kafka in production. Deep understanding of Kafka architecture and security (SSL, SASL, ACLs). Experience with Kafka Streams, KSQL, or Apache Flink. Familiarity with Kafka Connect, Zookeeper, and Schema Registry. Proven ability to manage Kafka clusters in cloud/on-prem environments. What We Value Curiosity and drive to push boundaries with automation.
