About You:
You're a go-getter with mad juggling skills (or multiple hats) who can thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment
You enjoy doing purpose-led and meaningful work
You have a strong thirst for knowledge and are driven to find solutions that don't exist yet
You are comfortable with ambiguity and extremely resourceful (in your past life, you could've been a detective)
You always find a way to get things done without sacrificing the quality of your work, integrity, and values
No task is off limits for you
You are humble and prioritize the success of the team over your own with an eagerness to help those around you
You don't shy away from challenges and can bounce back from setbacks
About the Role:
You will be the technical engine behind our data-driven decision-making. Supporting the Data and Analytics Manager, you will bridge the gap between complex data architecture and business strategy. Your primary focus will be designing, building, and maintaining scalable ETL data pipelines, while your secondary focus will involve gathering requirements, analyzing data, and developing reporting solutions for non-technical stakeholders. This role requires a strong technical engineering background, an analytical mindset, and a collaborative approach to supporting the team's data initiatives
What you’ll do and what success looks like in this role:
Pipeline Development: Design, build, test, and maintain robust and scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to process structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data from multiple sources.
Data Integration & Architecture: Apply strong data engineering principles to build data ingestion, wrangling, cleansing, and transformation processes.
Data Modeling & Quality: Design and maintain efficient data models. Implement rigorous data quality, validation, and cleansing procedures to ensure high reliability for downstream analytics and reporting.
Automation: Automate data workflows and deployment pipelines (e.g., using CI/CD tools, GitHub Actions, or Airflow). Develop APIs or backend services to integrate data across platforms when necessary.
Troubleshooting: Conduct root-cause analysis, troubleshoot pipeline failures, and proactively optimize data pipelines for performance and scalability.
Data Exploration: Dive deep into source data to identify business value, hidden trends, data quality issues, and integration needs.
Business Collaboration: Partner closely with business stakeholders to gather data requirements and translate them into fit-for-purpose data assets.
Data Visualization: Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using tools like Looker or Tableau to make complex data easily digestible for non-technical stakeholders.
Actionable Insights: Assist Data Analytics Manager to support business decision-making by answering complex business questions through SQL queries, statistical analysis, and logical reasoning.
What is required and what we’re looking for:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field
At least 2 years of hands-on experience in data engineering, data analytics, or business intelligence, preferably within a digital bank, fintech, or similar institution
Core Engineering Skills: Proven, hands-on experience building, managing, and optimizing ETL/ELT data pipeline
Strong proficiency in Python (specifically for data engineering, automation, and data wrangling) and advanced SQL
Solid experience using BI tools (such as Qlik, Tableau, Power BI, or Looker Studio) for data analysis and dashboard creation
Solid understanding of financial services and banking products, with a strong eagerness to deepen your business acumen and learn about digital transformation
Strong ability to bridge the gap between technical and business teams, with a knack for clearly explaining complex technical data concepts to non-technical team members
Working knowledge of cloud data platforms (e.g., GCP/BigQuery, Azure, or AWS) is highly advantageous.
