Position Overview

Join the Galaxy! This position is a key member of the executive leadership team. The Vice President of Engineering and Development is a senior hands-on technical leader role responsible for end-to-end architecture of Galaxy’s next-generation platform and game development overseeing system design, engineering excellence, vendor strategy, and technical standards while guiding the organization toward scalable, secure, high-availability distributed systems.
Essential Job Functions:
Own the architecture for platform services, data model, event schemas, and security model
Define long-term architectural direction aligned with business/product strategies
Establish and oversee CI/CD, code review, testing, SLOs, and on-call frameworks and DevOps strategies
Own vendor evaluation, acceptance, PR review, merge rights, and release gates
Communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Hire, train, lead and mentor in-house and outsourced engineering teams
Ensure solutions are aligned, scalable, efficient, and executed with business objectives, strategic plans/budgets, timelines and regulatory requirements reflecting market trends
Provide technical leadership in the development of game development frameworks, tools, and supporting systems
Ensure ongoing product adherence to industry compliance standards, particularly within regulated gambling markets
Implement security best practices, that mitigate technical risk ensuring long term stable and secure development environments
Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence by fostering innovation, accountability, and high integrity
Partner with Product, Operations, Compliance, Sales, and Customers
Work closely with the iGaming business team to ensure that the online (live dealer and RNG) product roadmap is aligned with the Core Product roadmap, and that market-leading omni-channel solutions are being developed

Required Knowledge/Skills/Job Qualifications:
Expertise in distributed systems, microservices, event-driven patterns
Strong coding fundamentals
Experience with high-availability, audit-heavy platforms
Knowledge of device/edge integration
Proven track record of successful leadership in a global product management role within the gaming industry
Extensive experience in managing cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, service, and operations
Strong understanding of gaming trends, user behaviors, licensing requirements and market dynamics
Exceptional strategic thinking and ability to align product initiatives with business goals
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Proven ability to coordinate and successfully oversee/manage multiple product development projects
Ability to understand and use numbers/data to solve real‑world problems, make informed decisions, and make business case recommendations
Outstanding negotiator with experience successfully negotiating complex deals with international and domestic suppliers and partners
Proven ability to manage third-party suppliers and partners upon whose deliverables the business depends
Positive attitude: ability to listen, ask questions, and work as a team
Excellent documentation skills with a high degree of accuracy
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM experience preferred
Must be flexible if needed for regular work outside of normal business hours due to global nature of the business and requirements for travel to attend shows and meet with customers

Must have the ability to obtain any gaming licenses that may be required for the role
Education/Experience:
Requires a BA/BS degree in a field that is related to business, computer science, or related field; or any combination of education and industry experience, which would be an equivalent background
8–10+ years building distributed systems and shipping production software at scale
Prior work in highly regulated, audit-heavy environments (gaming strongly preferred)
Established relationships with key players in the market (operators, regulators, suppliers, partners, media)
Physical Requirements
Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time
Must occasionally move about inside the office to access office machinery
Constantly use hands/fingers to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator and copy machine
Occasionally will need to reach with hands and arms and lift up to 10 pounds
Travel will be required estimated at 10% local, 15% regional, and 5% global
