Visionary leader responsible for defining and leading the Test Engineering and Automation Engineering execution strategy and operational delivery model for the global CSG Client Validation Engineering organization. This role oversees the validation planning, automation, and execution strategy for high-impact client products—including laptops, desktops, and ecosystems—with a strong emphasis on operationalizing AI-assisted workflows that improve validation accuracy, productivity, and customer-usage experience outcomes. 

A proven engineering operations leader with deep validation domain knowledge, able to apply technical expertise and strong process discipline to deliver differentiated, customer-centric client products at scale.

What you’ll achieve
As a Client Validation Engineering Director, you will be responsible for delivering new PCBA technologies and logic solutions that scale across our next-generation enterprise portfolio. You will work with a deeply technical and dynamic team of electrical engineers as well as cross-functional global teams to innovate and deliver game-changing products in our server marketspace!

You will:

• Lead the global Validation Engineering organization to deliver rigorous, high-quality validation outcomes across HW, SW, Customer Experience & Solutions. Manage the end-to-end engineering life-cycle by converting architectural strategies into execution-ready packages (test plans, configurations, and automated scripts/bundles). Ensure effective technical handoff to Validation Management to maximize automation and user behavior coverage. Integrate Dell Applications and solution scenarios into the validation scope and scenario coverage.

• Lead transformation of validation to align with global business goals by operationalizing AI-assisted workflows and scaled automation. Define the strategy and governance for intelligent test capabilities (telemetry-informed, log analysis, AI-assisted) with clear accountability. Transform how coverage is defined and executed by using data and AI to optimize regression focus, improve time-to-detect, and balance functional rigor with customer-usage experience outcomes.

• Build and mentor a world-class Validation Engineering organization with a robust talent development pipeline. Cultivate a culture of accountability, technical rigor, and continuous innovation across global teams. Lead talent transformation by upskilling the workforce from manual-centric to automation-savvy, data-literate engineers, and leveraging AI-assisted workflows. Foster a collaborative working relationship with all development and business stakeholders.

• Collaborate closely with Validation Architecture, Strategy, Data Science, Validation Management, Platform R&D, Product Management, Operations, and Quality to align on priorities, readiness criteria, and adoption of the execution operating model. Deliver integrated, high-quality products that differentiate in the market by establishing strong feedback loops where execution data and insights inform upstream decisions, improving requirement clarity, design robustness, and future validation strategy.

Essential Requirements

•
15+ years in product engineering including validation, with extensive leadership experience in client or consumer electronics.

•
Deep knowledge of engineering development with an understanding of validation.

•
Deep knowledge of PC Architecture & technologies to define strategies for both functional and customer usage testing including HW, SW, peripherals and solutions.

•
Demonstrated success working with large, geographically distributed engineering teams including validation.

•
Demonstrated success leading transformation including cross functional alignment.

•
Experience partnering with cross-functional executive peers in product design, marketing, operations, and quality.

•
Experience partnering and influencing external technical partners.

•
Recognized as a forward-thinking leader in innovation or client computing.

• Strong capability in managing complex execution scopes and driving joint-validation excellence to ensure product quality at scale.
