Technical Sales and Product Development Manager
Job Summary
The Technical Sales and Product Development Manager is responsible for integrating technical product expertise with commercial sales initiatives at American Natural Processors (ANP). This role leads product development initiatives, supports technical sales activities, and manages the commercialization of new products.
The position works cross-functionally with Sales, Research & Development, Operations, Quality Assurance, Scheduling, and Accounting to translate customer requirements into commercially viable products and scalable manufacturing processes while maintaining ANP’s standards for quality, food safety, and operational efficiency.
Duties & Responsibilities
Technical Sales & Customer Engagement
Coordinate and execute company participation in 3–6 industry trade shows annually.
Manage and track sales opportunities through Salesforce.
Collaborate with customer QA and R&D teams and internal QA and Operations to define product requirements.
Oversee sample preparation, documentation, attribute testing, and distribution tracking.
Support development of technical marketing materials and communication initiatives.
Product Development
Define product attributes, applications, and positioning for ANP product lines.
Develop technical sales and product support materials including specification sheets and application guides.
Participate in R&D trials and product validation activities.
Collaborate with QA and Operations to collect trial data and performance metrics.
Coordinate with Production, Operations, and Accounting to translate customer requirements into executable processes.
Product Commercialization
Lead development and management of product specifications and COA requirements.
Partner with QA and Operations to develop HACCP and food safety plans for new products.
Establish testing protocols and laboratory methods with QA.
Maintain product certifications including Organic, Non-GMO, Halal, and Kosher.
Manage product documentation platforms including TraceGains.
Oversee customer product approval and onboarding processes.
Coordinate raw material specifications with Scheduling, QA, and Operations.
Quality Assurance Support
Support QA teams with Out-of-Specification (OOS) investigations.
Provide backup support to Site QA Managers when needed.
Participate in food safety plan reviews, QA meetings, and SQF audit preparation.
Provide backup support for SQF Practitioner and PCQI responsibilities when required.
ANP Ways Leadership
Demonstrate and reinforce the ANP Ways through leadership behaviors and decision-making.
Promote collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across departments.
Support a culture of operational excellence, food safety, and quality.
Qualifications
Required
Experience in technical sales, product development, or food manufacturing environments.
Understanding of ingredient functionality or food processing.
Strong cross-functional collaboration and project management skills.
Ability to develop and communicate technical documentation.
Preferred
Experience in food ingredient or agricultural processing industries.
Familiarity with HACCP, SQF, and food safety regulatory frameworks.
Experience managing product certifications and supplier documentation.
Physical & Work Environment
Combination of office, laboratory, and plant environments within food manufacturing facilities.
Periodic travel for trade shows and customer meetings.
Ability to work in and around industrial manufacturing environments.
