We manufacture and distribute industrial sealants and lubricants, as well as related products, such as lubrication equipment and fittings. About the Role
The Technical Account Manager is responsible for managing and developing relationships with key accounts, serving as a trusted technical and commercial contact for customers across The United States and globally. This office-based role focuses on understanding customer needs, offering tailored product solutions, and ensuring consistent, high-quality service. The Technical Account Manager collaborates cross-functionally to align customer requirements with Sealweld/Val-Tex’s specialized valve maintenance product offerings.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Manage and grow key customer accounts by developing a thorough understanding of their technical needs and operations.
Provide product selection guidance and technical support related to valve maintenance products, including sealants, lubricants, injection equipment, and fittings.
Respond to customer inquiries and coordinate quotations, product recommendations, and technical solutions in a timely and professional manner.
Serve as the main point of contact for assigned accounts, ensuring alignment between customer expectations and internal capabilities.
Collaborate with internal teams including Engineering, Production, Technical Services, and Customer Support to deliver high-quality service and solutions.
Identify opportunities to expand product usage within existing accounts through upselling and solution-based selling.
Deliver presentations, support marketing initiatives, and conduct public speaking engagements and product demonstrations to promote company products and services.
Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, technical discussions, and sales activity within CRM systems.
Support the development of technical documentation, customer case studies, and marketing materials as needed.
Participate in customer account reviews, internal planning meetings, and occasional industry events or trade shows.
Collaborate with marketing for expos and other marketing events.
Qualifications
Education
Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Business, or a related technical field preferred.
Equivalent work experience in a technical customer-facing role may be considered.
Experience
Minimum 10 years of experience in a technical sales, account management, or customer support role in the industrial, oil & gas, or valve-related industries.
Strong knowledge of valve maintenance products and processes, including sealants, lubricants, injection tools, and valve fittings.
Knowledge of pipeline maintenance, wellhead maintenance, ball, gate and plug valves; and grease industry is a plus.
Experience with presentations, marketing initiatives, public speaking, and product demonstrations is considered an asset.
Demonstrated success managing customer accounts and delivering technical solutions in a B2B environment.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly throughout The United States.
Sales, account management or technical certifications are considered an asset but are not required.

Physical Requirements
This role is primarily office-based and involves frequent use of a computer and standard office equipment. Some light lifting (up to 30 pounds) may be required for product samples or presentation materials. Visual and auditory abilities are required for meetings and technical review.
Work Conditions
This position involves both office work and regular travel to customer locations, trade shows, and company facilities. Standard office noise levels are low to moderate. Travel domestically is expected to be approximately 40 – 50% plus the addition of occasional international travel.
