Our client in the Information Technology and Services industry is looking for a Storage Virtualisation Engineer to design, implement, and manage virtualization technologies and environments that optimize IT infrastructure and resource utilization. This role focuses on configuring and maintaining virtual machines, managing hypervisors, and ensuring the efficient, secure, and highly available operation of virtualized environments across complex enterprise infrastructure.

What you will do:

• Design, deploy, and manage virtualization solutions including virtual machines and hypervisors.
• Monitor and optimize performance of virtualized environments to ensure high availability and efficiency.
• Implement and maintain virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, KVM, Nutanix, and OpenShift.
• Build and rebuild VMware ESX cluster environments using automation solutions to meet global business requirements.
• Learn and implement VMware technology products and apply automation techniques rapidly and effectively.
• Plan and execute ESX hardware evergreening activities across complex VMware environments, coordinating with vendors and data centre teams.
• Troubleshoot and resolve virtualization infrastructure issues related to performance and connectivity.
• Develop and implement backup, disaster recovery, and security strategies for virtual environments.
• Collaborate with IT teams to integrate virtualization solutions with existing systems and applications.
• Follow change management practices and raise high-quality change requests.
• Configure and manage VMware vSphere/vCenter, Hyper-V, and HCI platforms.
• Configure HA and DRS clusters and troubleshoot HA and failover scenarios.
• Manage RDM configurations including clustered VM guests.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize environments for performance, capacity, and resource efficiency.
• Coordinate with hardware and storage teams to diagnose root causes and resolve infrastructure issues.
• Stay current with virtualization technologies, best practices, and industry trends.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Extensive experience with core virtualization platforms and storage solutions.
• Proficiency with VMware, Hyper-V, vSphere, vCenter, and HCI platforms.
• Strong understanding of storage and virtual networking concepts.
• Experience with scripting and automation using Python, PowerShell, Ansible, and VMware PowerCLI.
• Experience migrating virtual machines between multiple storage arrays.
• Strong knowledge of solution design, performance tuning, and disaster recovery implementation.
• VCP certification or equivalent industry standard VMware certification preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
