We are looking for a Staff Fullstack Engineer to lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance applications across the frontend and backend. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with strong expertise in modern frontend frameworks and cloud-native architectures on AWS.
You will play a key role in defining system architecture, mentoring engineers, and driving best practices, while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful digital products.
This is a hybrid position based in MedellĂn or Bogotá, offering a balance between onsite collaboration and remote flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
•
Design, build, and maintain fullstack applications using React and Next.js.
•
Develop scalable backend services using Python and AWS cloud services.
•
Architect and implement serverless solutions leveraging:
•
API Gateway
•
AWS Lambda
•
Step Functions
•
Design and evolve microservices architectures and event-driven systems.
•
Define technical architecture, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
•
Implement monitoring and observability using CloudWatch and CloudTrail.
•
Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
•
Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices and code quality.
•
Participate in code reviews, system design discussions, and technical decision-making.
Must-have Skills
•
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
•
8+ years of experience in software engineering, including fullstack development.
•
Advanced English level (written and spoken).
•
Strong experience with React and Next.js.
•
Solid backend development experience using Python.
•
Proven expertise working with AWS cloud services, including:
•
API Gateway
•
AWS Lambda
•
Step Functions
•
Experience designing and implementing microservices architectures.
•
Strong knowledge of event-driven architecture patterns.
•
Hands-on experience with CloudWatch and CloudTrail for monitoring and logging.
•
Strong understanding of distributed systems and scalable architecture design.
Nice-to-have
•
AI Tooling Proficiency: Leverage one or more AI tools to optimize and augment day-to-day work, including drafting, analysis, research, or process automation. Provide recommendations on effective AI use and identify opportunities to streamline workflows.
•
Experience in technical leadership roles (Staff/Principal level).
•
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
•
Experience working in Agile environments.
•
Exposure to modern frontend patterns (SSR, SSG, performance optimization).
•
Experience working with distributed or global teams.
