We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Backend / Platform Engineer to help build and scale a world-class AI observability and trust platform. This role focuses on designing and developing robust backend systems that enable enterprises to deploy, monitor, evaluate, and improve AI applications at production scale—including predictive models, LLMs, generative AI, and agentic systems. You will work at the intersection of distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and AI/ML workflows, playing a critical role in shaping platform reliability, scalability, and transparency while contributing to the long-term vision of responsible AI.

Requirements:
Key Responsibilities

• Design and build core backend services and cloud platform components that support large-scale AI and ML observability use cases.
• Lead the design and implementation of distributed systems and microservices that compute, store, and expose advanced AI observability metrics such as relevance, hallucination, and performance indicators.
• Architect enterprise-grade data infrastructure, APIs, and services capable of handling high-throughput workloads while meeting compliance, reliability, and SLA requirements.
• Drive the development of new evaluation metrics and capabilities in collaboration with customers and internal stakeholders to address evolving AI risks and needs.
• Define and continuously improve the operational maturity of backend systems, including reliability, latency, SLOs, monitoring, and incident response.
• Champion best practices in CI/CD, testing, resiliency, performance optimization, and error handling across the engineering organization.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, data scientists, frontend engineers, and designers in a globally distributed environment.
• Play an active role in team building, including interviewing, mentoring, coaching engineers, and raising the overall technical bar through design and code reviews.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, with 10+ years of industry experiencein software engineering.
• Deep expertise in Python and backend development, with strong hands-on experience in systems using Postgres, Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Ray, or similar technologies.
• Strong foundation in distributed systems design, production debugging, and performance optimization.
• Experience working with cloud infrastructure and containerized environments (AWS/GCP, Kubernetes), with exposure to specialized data stores such as ClickHouse or Druid considered a plus.
• Proven ability to operate with high ownership and autonomy in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
• Demonstrated technical leadership, including breaking down complex problems, guiding small teams, and delivering high-impact projects.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills across cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
• A mentoring mindset with a passion for coaching engineers and elevating engineering standards.
• Bonus points for experience deploying ML or LLM systems in production, familiarity with modern LLM frameworks, and model evaluation tools.
