What you’ll achieve

As a Software Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for developing sophisticated systems and software based on the customer’s business goals, needs and general business environment creating software solutions.

Beginning with discovery and mapping of data sources, understanding their formats, cataloging these sources and data schema - we let customers understand their data landscape, both by building historical perspectives and allowing real time data change captures and cataloging these changes. Customer may choose consolidate business data in a data warehouse or data lake or keep disparate sources. We will enable customers to perform data lifecycle analytics to derive intelligence about data sources and business data characteristics.

You will:

• Influence the technical direction and strategy of the Data Lakehouse team.

• Be part of the Data Lakehouse engineering team, responsible for designing and developing scalable, efficient and reliable data platform.

• Prepare, review and evaluate software/storage specifications for products and systems

• You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering and product management, to drive the development of Dell's Data Lakehouse platform.

Essential Requirements

• 8-12 years of experience in software development, with a focus on distributed systems, storage/cloud or data management.

• Strong technical expertise in Go Lang with experience in Kubernetes stack.

• Experience with containerization using Docker and Kubernetes is required, with a strong understanding of how to design, build, and deploy containerized applications in a Kubernetes environment.

• Experience in Operating Systems including Linux, Unix and open source platforms.

• Experience with cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and experience with containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.

Desirable Requirements

• Own and manage the product backlog, define user stories and acceptance criteria for data platform

• Experience in technical leadership, mentoring junior engineers, leading and driving technical decisions.
