Software Engineering Team Lead

We’re seeking a high-impact Hands-On Engineering Team Lead to own and lead our Fabric Team - the beating heart of Sisense’s platform. This small, elite team builds and maintains the critical communication layers and core backend services that ensure performance, scalability, and rock-solid reliability for our entire AI-powered embedded analytics platform, serving thousands of global users.

You’ll lead by doing, staying deeply technical while guiding a talented group of backend engineers to deliver mission-critical systems. What You’ll Do

• Lead and mentor a compact team of backend engineers, fostering ownership, technical excellence, and collaborative growth.

• Drive the architecture, design, and delivery of high-scale core services in a multi-tenant SaaS environment.

• Champion best practices in distributed systems, observability, orchestration, and agile delivery (Scrum experience a plus).

• Take full ownership of key platform components, from roadmap decisions to production reliability.

• Bridge technical execution with business impact, collaborating cross-functionally to solve real-world scalability challenges.

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years leading an engineering team, with proven success in driving technical standards, mentoring engineers, and accelerating professional growth.

• 5+ years of hands-on backend (or full-stack) development, with deep expertise in Node.js for building scalable services.

• Strong practical experience in AWS ecosystems, including Kubernetes for orchestration, MongoDB for data persistence, and RabbitMQ for messaging/reliable queues.

• Solid understanding of the challenges of distributed systems in multi-tenant SaaS.

• Track record of full ownership on complex services: architecture design → implementation → scaling in production.

• Experience as a technical focal point/mentor, promoting Agile (Scrum/Kanban) and a high-accountability culture.

• Excellent communication to align engineering with business priorities.
