Software Engineer - Storage Squad

What you’ll do
Scality Storage Squad is looking for a highly skilled Software Engineer to join us in France. In this role, you will participate in the development of our data stores.
Our tools of trade are a good code editor to write in C, Python and some Go on a Linux environment. We take pride in delivering a quality product that can stand the test of time. For sure, your development on a distributed system will have an impact since our core technology is serving hundreds of customers and millions of end users.

Responsibilities:
• Design new features on our storage systems
• Develop them
• Test them
• Document them
• Help troubleshoot the code when needed
• Review designs, code, tests, documentations from your peers

Requirements:
• You have significant experience with system programming in C on Linux on multi-threaded software
• You have worked on distributed systems
• You are able to design architecture to solve problems at high scale
• You know how to test software, what to test and when
• You are familiar with Git
• You are at ease working in an english-speaking environment
• You have a BS/MS/PhD in a scientific field or equivalent experience

Bonus:
• Knowledge of storage technologies
• Performance tuning
• Experience with Python and/or Go
• Knowledge of Kubernetes and container technologies

Office
Scality is an international company with R&D split between Paris and San Francisco, and other offices in Tokyo, London and many other places around the world. Its EMEA headquarters is a modern and spacious office located in Paris 8th arrondissement (Madeleine), and has all the “traditional” amenities - showers, gym, cafeteria, table tennis, foosball table, board games, etc. Engineers can work 2 to 3 days of remotely per week.
