Responsibilities

80%of the role involves optimizing complex SQL queries, functions, and stored procedures for PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server.

Improve schema design, indexing strategies, and query performance to support large-scale applications.

Develop and maintain ETL processesand data pipelines to integrate data across systems.

Collaborate with developers to ensure efficient application–database interactions.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex database-related issues in production environments.

Contribute to automation of database-related tasksusing scripts and development tools.

Participate in architectural discussions and bring a developer’s perspective to database design and optimization.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of experience as a software engineer.

At least 3 years of hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and/or Microsoft SQL Server.

Strong skills in writing and tuning complex SQL queries (core part of the role).

Experience in designing and building ETL workflows and data integrations.

Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Node.js, C#, etc.) for integration and automation.

Solid experience working in Linux environments (installation, configuration, scripting).

Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.

Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have

Experience with cloud database platforms (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, etc.).

Familiarity with containerized environments (Kubernetes, Docker).

Advanced scripting and automation experience (Python, Bash, PowerShell).

Exposure to CI/CD pipelines involving database deployments.
