Job Description

We are hiring for a leading digital asset platform providing brokerage, exchange, and custody services for institutional and professional investors. Renowned for its commitment to regulatory compliance, it operates under one of the first virtual asset trading licenses issued by Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission (SFC). Its offerings include over-the-counter (OTC) trading, RFQ (Request-for-Quote) services, and electronic trading solutions.

They are looking for a strategic Lead of Trading Operations with strong execution capabilities to drive process optimization, automation, and efficiency across our trading workflows.

This role requires a hands-on approach to redesigning and enhancing trade execution, settlement processes, and operational workflows, while collaborating with the product team to build and implement automation solutions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of trading operations, a proactive mindset, and the ability to make high-impact decisions independently.

In this role, you will:

Lead Trading Operations Team

• Managing digital asset and fiat related trade settlement and communicating with internal and external trading counterparties to ensure timely and accurate settlements.

• Trade reconciliation from post trade to settlement to ensure correct and timely settlement.

• Keeping track of the treasury, and liaising with the trading and finance teams on accounting for asset balances across operations.

Process Optimization & Automation Leadership

• Analyze and redesign existing trade flows, settlement processes, and operational workflows to maximize efficiency and reduce risk.

• Champion automation initiatives, working closely with the product and engineering teams to design and implement scalable solutions.

• Identify bottlenecks in trade execution, post-trade processes, and reconciliation, and implement improvements

Cross-functional Collaboration & Implementation

• Partner with trading desks, technology, product, and risk teams to align automation and process improvements with business objectives.

• Drive adoption of new tools and workflows across teams, ensuring smooth implementation and stakeholder buy-in.

• Act as the primary liaison between trading operations and other departments to ensure operational excellence.

You might thrive in this role if you have:

• 10+ years in trading operations, trade support, or middle office functions within asset management, hedge funds, investment banks, or electronic trading firms.

• Proven track record in process optimization, automation, and trade lifecycle improvements (execution, confirmation, settlement, reconciliation).

• Experience working with product/tech teams to build and implement automation tools (e.g., trade matching, exception handling, reporting).

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex operational challenges.

• Strategic mindset with a focus on automation, efficiency, and scalability.

• Excellent project management skills—ability to lead initiatives from conception to execution.

• Familiarity with workflow automation tools, or trading platforms is a plus.

• Proactive, results-driven, and able to operate with a high degree of autonomy.

• Strong leadership and communication skills to influence stakeholders at all levels.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic trading environment.
