About the Role
As a Senior Technical Sourcer at OpenAI, you will play a key role in identifying and engaging top-tier engineering talent to support our advanced infrastructure and platform initiatives. Your focus will be on sourcing experts in large-scale systems, cloud infrastructure, and distributed computing to help build a world-class team supporting our mission in AI research and deployment.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Leading sourcing strategies to identify and engage candidates with expertise in areas such as large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, and cloud platform engineering.

• Developing and maintaining a strong pipeline of passive candidates through proactive outreach, research, and networking.

• Collaborating closely with hiring managers and technical leaders to deeply understand hiring needs and refine sourcing approaches accordingly.

• Leveraging advanced sourcing techniques and tools to identify and attract exceptional talent.

• Representing OpenAI at industry events and conferences to promote our mission and connect with potential candidates.

• Maintaining accurate and organized candidate data and metrics to inform sourcing strategies and decision-making.

We’re seeking:

• 5+ years of experience in technical sourcing, with a focus on infrastructure or systems engineering roles.

• A proven track record of successfully sourcing candidates in fields such as cloud infrastructure, distributed computing, or systems engineering.

• A strong understanding of complex engineering principles and the ability to effectively communicate technical requirements to candidates.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with both candidates and internal stakeholders.

• Proficiency with sourcing tools and platforms, including LinkedIn Recruiter and applicant tracking systems.

• The ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Workplace & Location

This role is based in our San Francisco office and we aren’t considering remote applications at this time. We offer relocation support to new employees, and we use a hybrid work model: three days in the office per week with optional work from home on Thursdays and Fridays.

Our open-plan offices have height-adjustable desks, conference rooms, phone booths, well-stocked kitchens full of snacks and drinks, three in-house prepared meals daily, a private outdoor space for working in the sun or socializing, nap rooms, private bike storage, and more.
