Senior Systems Engineer

Responsibilities:

MaxLinear is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our Systems team at the Valencia Design Center. In this role, you will lead functional and non-functional testing for our cutting-edge embedded software and systems. You will collaborate with a team of experienced engineers to develop MaxLinear’s next-generation communication infrastructure System-on-Chip (SoC) solutions. As a Senior System Integration Test Engineer, you will ensure the quality and robustness of our communication systems. Your key responsibilities include:
Review system specifications provided by design teams
Design and implement test procedures to validate system requirements and measure system performance indicators during both Pre-silicon and Post-silicon phases
Automate system-level test suites using scripting languages (Python) and lab instrumentation APIs, aiming for maximum automation across all phases
Use and collaborate to maintain and enhance existing cloud-based test infrastructure for assigned projects
Collaborate closely with software and hardware design engineers to align testing with development goals
Execute, analyze, and report system test results, providing actionable insights
Track and report defects, verify fixes, and ensure resolution
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
Bachelors in Telecommunications or Electronic Engineering with 2+ years of relevant industry experience, OR
Masters in Telecommunications or Electronic Engineering
Technical Skills:
Knowledge of RF and digital communication systems hardware / software
Hands-on experience with lab instruments (e.g. spectrum analyzer, signal generator, oscilloscope)
Good Python programming skills
Soft Skills:
Fluent in written and spoken English
Ability to communicate with colleagues from other departments, local or remote
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about efficiency
Open to learning new technologies, tools, and programming languages
Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Skills:
Understanding of IP networking
ISTQB Foundation Level Certification or higher
Linux OS knowledge
Embedded systems experience
Experience with version control tools (e.g., Git)
Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) processes and tools (e.g., Jenkins)
Familiarity with communication technologies (e.g., Wi-Fi)
