Senior Solution Architect - Banking Technology

Flatgigs is hiring a Senior Solution Architect for a large-scale banking technology transformation program with a confidential client.

This role sits within the enterprise architecture function and is responsible for designing secure, scalable, and resilient banking platforms aligned with business strategy and enterprise architecture standards.

The architect will work closely with technology leadership and delivery teams to design modern digital banking systems, including mobile banking platforms integrated with microservices and API-driven ecosystems.

This role is ideal for architects who enjoy solving complex system design challenges in highly regulated environments while ensuring performance, security, and reliability at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end solution architecture design for large banking technology initiatives
• Design secure, scalable, and resilient systems aligned with enterprise architecture standards
• Architect microservices-based and API-driven platforms for digital banking applications
• Work closely with engineering teams to guide technical design and implementation decisions
• Evaluate and justify architecture patterns, design trade-offs, and technology choices
• Ensure systems meet performance, reliability, and scalability requirements
• Contribute to architecture governance, technical reviews, and reusable architecture frameworks
• Support delivery teams in solving complex architectural and integration challenges

Architecture & Technology Responsibilities

• Design cloud-native architectures and distributed systems
• Architect platforms using microservices, APIs, and event-driven architectures
• Work with containerization technologies and modern cloud infrastructure
• Ensure systems are optimized for high availability and large-scale transaction processing

Security & Compliance

A strong focus on cybersecurity and regulatory compliance is essential.

The architect will ensure systems follow security best practices including:

• Threat modeling and risk mitigation
• Authentication and authorization frameworks
• Encryption and data protection strategies
• Security monitoring and incident prevention
• Compliance with standards such as:
• PCI-DSS
• GDPR
• Banking regulatory frameworks

Domain Experience (Mandatory)

Strong experience working in banking or financial services architecture, ideally in areas such as:

• Digital banking platforms
• Payments and settlements systems
• Core banking integrations
• Financial transaction processing
• Accounting and financial ledgers

Experience designing mobile banking platforms or digital banking ecosystems will be a strong advantage.

Emerging Technology Exposure (Preferred)

Awareness of modern technology trends such as:

• Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI
• Large Language Models (LLMs)
• Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
• Vector databases
• AI agents and intelligent automation systems

Ideal Candidate Profile

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering and architecture
• Proven experience as Solution Architect or Technical Architect
• Strong experience designing enterprise-scale distributed systems
• Experience working in banking or financial services environments
• Strong analytical thinking and architectural decision-making ability
• Ability to collaborate with engineering teams, architecture leadership, and business stakeholders
• Mentoring mindset and ability to guide engineering teams on architecture best practices
