We are looking for a passionate and skilled Senior Software QA Engineer to be part of the BigData platform team.

As a team member, you will work closely with Development, DevOps, and QA, to learn and should have Automation first mindset, work on the latest Big Data technologies, lead PoCs to exercise new ideas and influence our technology stack's future direction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Must have

• Develop and execute tests at all levels of the testing pyramid (unit tests, integration tests, performance tests, end-to-end tests, functional, security tests. etc.).
• Triage and resolve automated test failures with data engineers directly.
• Build and maintain automated testing, test environments, and test data.

Highly Desired

• Communicate and collaborate effectively with stakeholders from Development, Project Management, Product Management, and other QA team members.
• Proactively seek out and share information with team members.
• Lead test preparation and test execution activities for data conversion, including test plans, test cases, and mapping of test cases to business requirements.

Good to have

• Collaborate with application SME and data engineering teams to develop a comprehensive test plan that validates data platform functionality.
• Develop automated tests using test automation tools following defined best practices.
• Collaborate with DevOps on CI/CD pipelines.
• Accurately report testing results and progress at appropriate intervals as established by the functional and/or application development areas.
• There is a lot of communication involved! Excellent interpersonal skills are highly valued.

Technology Stack

Testing Tools

Must have

• Basic proficiency with SQL.
• Basic proficiency with Python.
• Experience with BI systems like Tableau.
• Experience in Power BI will also be considered.

Highly Desired

• Java, Scala, PowerShell, bash
• Great Expectations / AWS Deque.
• Any other similar programming language will also be considered.
• Big data Tools.

Must have

• Working experience with Amazon Web Services or similar Cloud offerings.
• Experience in other Public Cloud vendors like Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud will also be considered.

Highly Desired

• AWS analytics ecosystem.
• Airflow, Glue, Athena/Presto, Redshift, Spark, S3, Lambda.
• Kafka, Kinesis, Flink, Dynamo.

Good to have

• Exposure to NoSQL databases.

Collaboration Tools

• JIRA.
• Confluence.
• JAMA.

Must have

• Prior experience in testing data platforms and data lakes.
• Good to know - Time-series data stores.
• Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment.
• Experience designing, managing, programming, and operating complex automated testing processes.

Highly desired

• To have experience in identifying the root cause of a defect, using debugging tools and techniques to analyze code, log files, and other artifacts.

Good to have

• Experience developing and maintaining test automation of REST APIs using Swagger, Postman, or other web service API testing tools.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must have 7+ years of experience in software development/testing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Math, Physics, or other technical field.

Highly desired

• 3+ years of experience in designing, automating and executing integration, performance, and scalability testing.
