Senior Software Engineer, Frontend - Internationalization

Squarespace is looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer on the International team.The International team builds features within our core product offerings that delight our growing base of non-US, non-English speaking users. Product domains for this team include language expansion, feature enhancements, and filling region-specific product gaps consistent with our International expansion strategies.

This team pairs closely with the Localization Engineering team to compose the larger i18n Engineering effort, which pursues the business-critical goal of making Squarespace accessible for people all over the world in their native language. This is a hybrid role based in our Dublin office, working three days per week onsite. You will report to the Engineering Team Manager for International.

You'll Get To…

• Build: Create and enhance features across a myriad of product surfaces at Squarespace to ensure a first-class experience for our global customer base.

• Design: Shape the frontend architecture and guiding principles of the Internationalization platform to ensure scalability, reliability, and an excellent developer experience.

• Solve: Solve complex technical challenges in internationalizing Squarespace's core product offerings to drive innovative solutions.

• Collaborate: Partner with engineers, designers, and product managers across Squarespace to deliver impactful product experiences.

• Mentor: Support engineers at varying levels, promoting growth, learning, and a culture of collaboration and innovation.

• Engage: Translate technical complexities into actionable insights and communicate effectively with stakeholders across disciplines.

Who We're Looking For

• 6+ years of experience in frontend software engineering with a strong foundation in modern web technologies (e.g., React, TypeScript).

• Strong understanding of engineering best practices, including testing, performance optimization, and maintainable architecture.

• Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to a positive, inclusive team culture.

• Communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Proven track record of delivering high-quality, scalable, and performant frontend solutions.

• Experience in internationalization, localization, and translations
