As a senior software engineer, you will shape our core platform by designing, building, and maintaining backend services that form the backbone of our microservice architecture. As a foundation team, our "customers" are the other development teams, we build the foundational services, libraries, and tooling that enable them to deliver their products efficiently and reliably. This means you think beyond individual features and focus on developer experience, reusability, and platform stability.

Beyond standard engineering work, you will play a key role in driving automation and AI adoption by streamlining development and testing workflows, implementing automation frameworks in collaboration with our QA organization, and championing the use of AI tooling across the team. You will ensure automation solutions are integrated across our foundational platform and product portfolio across all our systems.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Automate development and operational flows leveraging AI-powered tools and techniques

• Build and implement automation frameworks in close collaboration with the QA organization

• Act as an advocate for AI tooling and AI-assisted practices within the team, promoting adoption and sharing best practices

• Drive/Lead technical analysis and delivery of larger topics, breaking them down and coordinating execution

• Design, develop, and maintain backend microservices that support our platform and product portfolio

• Implement new features and improvements to existing services, ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability

• Collaborate with fellow engineers in an agile Scrum team, participating in stand-ups, backlog refinements, and retrospectives

• Work closely with Product Owners to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions

• Contribute to the global developer community, sharing best practices and driving innovation

Your skills and interests

What else is expected:

• Experience with or strong interest in AI-powered tooling (e.g., Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, GitHub Copilot) and applying AI to improve engineering workflows

• Experience with test automation frameworks and practices, or willingness to build expertise in this area

• Proven experience as a Backend Software Engineer with expertise in Java 17, Java EE7, and modern frameworks

• Solid understanding of microservices architecture and relational databases (Oracle, MSSQL, or Postgres)

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

• Fluent in English, as the role requires interaction with international teams
