About the team

The Rubrik Security Apps team helps customers secure their data on the cloud, SaaS and on-prem. Data is growing at an ever growing pace and so are the risks with cyber attacks targeted towards cloud data. We make it easy for businesses to protect, search, analyze all of their data simply and scalably.

The Data Threat Detection team is the core engineering team responsible for Rubrik’s mission to secure the world’s data. We operate at the intersection of massive-scale distributed systems and advanced cybersecurity. While traditional security tools focus on the perimeter, our team builds the "Last Line of Defense"—a unified security platform designed to detect, and analyze sophisticated threats.

Our work powers the Rubrik Security Cloud, specifically the Threat Monitoring and Threat Hunt product suites. We are responsible for architecting the software that scans petabytes of data to identify Indicators of Compromise, mapping the "blast radius" of ransomware attacks, and ensuring that our customers can recover their business operations with 100% confidence in the integrity of their data.

What you’ll do

• Take full ownership of projects from design to implementation, test and deployment

• Design, develop, and deliver the next generation Threat Monitoring and Threat Hunt System

• Assess the reliability of the Linux system stack and create new features to enhance the error handling and performance in Rubrik product stack

• Design, develop and operationalize high performance, scalable, reliable and resilient system infrastructure level services

• Diagnose and resolve problems in complex customer environments

• You are a first principles thinker who can help the team tackle complex technical or ambiguous problems.

• Working across departments to deliver business-critical applications.

Experience you’ll need

• 1-2+ years leading complex technical projects, setting engineering direction, and guiding teams.

• Expertise in building large-scale, distributed systems and infrastructure.

• Core Competencies: Strong proficiency in programming languages (Go, Scala) and deep domain expertise (Cloud Security).

• Exceptional communication, stakeholder influence, and problem-solving abilities.

• Computer Science graduate with strong problem-solving abilities

• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems design

• Strong background in Systems programming

• Programming and debugging knowledge in C++, Java, Scala

• Extensive experience with Linux kernel or equivalent, and kernel debugging

• 7 - 11 years of relevant experience in developing enterprise software

• Strong interest in learning new technologies, solve complex problems and challenges

• Knowledge in Security, Threats, Filesystems or Data Protection technologies is a plus
