The Trust Engineering Team at JioHotstar builds secure, reliable, and fraud-resistant systems that protect our platform, digital assets and millions of users daily.

About the Role:
As a Senior Software Engineer in the Trust Engineering Team at JioHotstar, you’ll build the backend systems that keep our platform secure and reliable for millions of users.
You’ll design and scale services that detect and mitigate threats in real time, strengthen platform integrity, and ensure every user enjoys a safe, uninterrupted experience. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy tackling complex distributed systems challenges and driving impact through secure, high-performance design.

Key Responsibilities::
• Design and build scalable, resilient microservices that drive JioStar’s Trust Engineering
• Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex backend projects—from technical design through deployment, monitoring, and iteration
• Write high-quality, maintainable, and well-tested code with a strong focus on fault tolerance and system reliability
• Drive architectural decisions and contribute to the long-term engineering roadmap
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Operations, and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Champion operational excellence, including performance tuning, incident management, and root cause analysis
• Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews and technical deep dives, and promote a culture of engineering excellence and knowledge sharing

Skills and Attributes for Success::
• Strong proficiency in Python or Golang
• Experience designing and building distributed systems at scale
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred, AWS Mediaservices experience is a plus), messaging systems (e.g., Kafka), and CI/CD pipelines
• Proven ability to work autonomously in fast-paced environments, manage priorities, and deliver high-impact results
• Passion for mentoring and growing fellow engineers
• Interest in advertising technologies and optimizing systems for user and business outcomes

Preferred Education and Experience::
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 6 years of experience in backend development, with a focus on building production-grade systems.
