THE ROLE

As a Senior Security Operations Engineer, you will be a primary architect of resilience, driving the evolution of our Security Operations Center (SOC) from reactive monitoring to proactive defense. You will partner closely with the Security Operations Manager to lead the onboarding of advanced security systems while mentoring a high-performing team. Your mission is to bridge the gap between complex threat landscapes and scalable technical solutions, ensuring our global data infrastructure remains impenetrable and innovative.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Architect and Onboard Security Infrastructure: Design the integration strategy for new security systems and services, ensuring seamless ingestion of data into our operations environment to close visibility gaps.

• Drive SOC Maturity and Integration: Evaluate and optimize our current toolstack—including IDS/IPS, EDR, and SIEM—to automate manual workflows and improve the Mean Time to Respond (MTTR) across the organization.

• Lead Incident Response and Threat Intelligence: Direct the identification and mitigation of active threats, leveraging GenAI and advanced forensics to minimize business impact and refine our operational risk posture.

• Operationalize Security Policy: Translate abstract security requirements into consistent, high-performing technical controls across Linux and Cloud (AWS) environments, ensuring our security roadmap aligns with global business growth.

• Innovate through Automation: Utilize a DevOps mindset to build custom scripts (Python, PowerShell) and leverage containerization (Docker) to eliminate repetitive tasks and increase team productivity.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Deep Technical Proficiency in Defense: Expert-level experience managing and maintaining enterprise security technologies such as UTM firewalls, network-based threat detection, and cloud computing platforms.

• Automation and Engineering Mindset: Proven ability to automate complex security tasks using scripting languages and experience deploying security controls within Docker or similar containerized environments.

• Strategic Incident Leadership: A track record of making prudent technical risk decisions during high-pressure incidents and the ability to map control frameworks directly to practical security operations.

• Collaborative Communication: The ability to represent technical viewpoints to diverse stakeholders and a self-motivated drive to take ownership of projects from conception to completion.

• Location: We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Prague office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
