About the role
We are looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to join us in Chandigarh. This role focuses on delivering high-quality software through a combination of functional testing, automation and behaviour-driven development practices.
You will work closely with engineering, product and DevOps teams to ensure test coverage is embedded throughout the development lifecycle. This role is well suited to someone who enjoys translating business requirements into effective test scenarios, building reliable automation and contributing to continuous improvement in quality practices.
What you'll do
Design, write and maintain clear and structured functional test cases based on business requirements and user stories.
Create and maintain BDD feature files using Cucumber, ensuring scenarios are well-defined using Gherkin syntax.
Develop and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium and/or Playwright.
Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and early defect detection.
Execute test cycles covering functional and edge-case scenarios to ensure strong test coverage.
Identify, log, track and manage defects using tools such as Jira, ensuring issues are clearly documented and resolved efficiently.
Collaborate with developers, product owners and other stakeholders to translate requirements into effective and meaningful test scenarios.
Contribute to the ongoing improvement of test frameworks, processes and overall quality engineering practices.
What we’re looking for
4+ years of relevant commercial experience in software quality engineering or QA automation.
Strong understanding of software testing fundamentals, including test case design and defect lifecycle management.
Hands-on experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber and writing feature files using Gherkin.
Practical experience with automation tools such as Selenium or Playwright in a commercial environment.
Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within Agile teams.
Working knowledge of Agile or Scrum development methodologies.
