Summary:
As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of the Charles River platform. Working within a Scrum team, you will collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and business analysts to build scalable automation solutions that support rapid and reliable software delivery.
You will design and implement automated test frameworks, expand test coverage across the platform, and contribute to continuous integration and delivery pipelines. In addition to building automation, you will help drive quality best practices and improve the testing infrastructure used across teams.
This is a hybrid role. You would be working 3 days from the office
Responsibilities:
•
Design and develop scalable automated test frameworks and regression suites
•
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality feature delivery
•
Expand automation coverage across functional, integration, and system testing
•
Support CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices
•
Identify quality risks early and drive continuous improvement in testing processes
•
Contribute to shared automation libraries and testing infrastructure
•
Advocate for quality engineering best practices across the development lifecycle
Qualifications:
Experience:
•
Minimum 6+ years of experience in software testing within a process-driven technology environment.
•
Strong programming expertise in at least one modern object-oriented programming language such as Java, C#, JavaScript, or Python.
•
Hands-on experience in front-end testing using industry-standard tools such as Playwright, Selenium, or similar frameworks.
•
Experience in back-end/API testing, including REST APIs, HTTP, and SOAP services.
•
Solid understanding of databases with practical SQL experience.
•
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
Nice to Have
•
Proven ability to translate business requirements into comprehensive functional and technical test plans.
•
Experience designing and implementing automation tests for web application/ desktop applications
•
Hands-on experience developing and executing automation test scripts across web, desktop/native applications, APIs, and batch processes.
•
Experience creating and maintaining test cases, scripts, and automated testing tools to validate requirements across multi-tier applications.
•
Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, k6, Gatling, or similar.
•
Experience maintaining manual and automated test libraries covering functional, integration, regression, and performance testing.
•
Familiarity with shell scripting languages such as PowerShell or Bash
Education:
B.S. degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, and Physics or other technical course of study or Business with an MIS background. MS degree strongly preferred.
Minimum Salary: zł182,004 Annual
The minimum salary quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate ultimately works outside of this primary location, the applicable minimum salary may differ.
Salary will be determined based on factors such as the position, type of work performed, individual skills, job description, working hours, diligence, initiative, self-management, length of employment, availability, and the quantity and quality of work delivered, as well as other objective and non-discriminatory criteria relevant to State Street employees.
In addition to salary, employees are eligible to be considered for discretionary annual performance-based awards.
