Senior Product Manager for Core Product

We're looking for experienced Senior Product Managers to join our core product teams. You'll lead product initiatives that directly impact how thousands of developers and businesses use Apify for web scraping, automation, and AI-powered data extraction.

This role requires someone who can navigate complex technical challenges while keeping user experience at the forefront. You'll work in a highly technical environment, collaborating daily with engineering teams to build innovative solutions at the intersection of web automation, cloud infrastructure, and AI.

What you’ll be working on:

• Define and execute product strategy for technically complex areas of the Apify platform, balancing innovation with user needs and business objectives.

• Work closely with engineering teams on a daily basis, participating in technical discussions and understanding architectural trade-offs to make informed product decisions.

• Partner with cross-functional teams, including Design, Marketing, Growth, Sales, Data Analysis, Developer Experience, and Product Advocates, to create and maintain comprehensive product roadmaps.

• Analyze product metrics and user behavior to identify opportunities and areas for improvement.

• Conduct qualitative and quantitative research, including user interviews, surveys, usability testing, or A/B experiments to validate hypotheses and improve product experiences.

• Work in a team where the product manager, designer, and tech lead are equals, fostering collaborative decision-making.

• Monitor competitive landscape and industry trends to identify opportunities and threats, particularly in web automation, AI, and developer tools markets.

• Drive product discovery processes, including problem validation, solution exploration, and iterative experimentation.

They say there are no perfect candidates, but you might be the one if you have:

• Experience working on technical products, ideally with a strong understanding of software development concepts (essential).

• Knowledge of SaaS business models, subscription pricing, and monetization strategies (highly desirable).

• Familiarity with web scraping, automation, APIs, cloud infrastructure, or AI/machine learning applications (highly desirable).

• Experience using AI tools for quick prototyping, product experimentation, and validating concepts (nice to have).

• Understanding of DX principles, developer tools, and platforms.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data and metrics to make informed decisions and drive product improvements.

• Excellence in both technical and non-technical communication, with the ability to influence and motivate cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

• Deep understanding of business strategies, market dynamics, and competitive landscape, with the ability to align product initiatives with overarching business goals.

• Knowledge of best practices in product management, agile development processes, and modern product discovery techniques.

• An experimental mindset with comfort in ambiguity and rapidly changing environments.

• Experience with product-led growth strategies and understanding of user acquisition, activation, and retention.

By the end of the 1st month, we expect you to:

• Get familiar with Apify's culture, values, and how various teams work together.

• Learn about our tools, processes, and workflows to understand where you fit in and how to be most effective.

• Familiarize yourself with the Apify platform, its technical architecture, and key product areas across our portfolio.

By the end of the first 4 months, we expect you to:

• Regularly meet with customers and users to understand their top concerns and the most significant challenges they face with the platform.

• Perform competitive analysis in your assigned area to better understand the problem space and the current state of the market.

• Understand the channels through which Apify acquires customers, our main competitive advantages, and key business metrics.

• Understand what data is collected about your product area, where it's stored, who is responsible for it, and how you can access it.

• Deliver your first wins - a small or medium-sized feature that demonstrates your ability to execute.

• Build strong working relationships with engineering, design, and cross-functional partners.

From month 4 onwards, we expect you to:

• Actively participate in evaluating and planning the overall roadmap against quarterly OKRs.

• Take ownership of projects without extensive guidance from established team members.

• Demonstrate clear impact through shipped features and measurable improvements in key product metrics.

• Monitoring: New Relic, LogDNA, Sentry, PagerDuty

• Analytics: Mixpanel, Tableau, Redash, Growthbook, MS Clarity

• Tools: GitHub, ZenHub, Notion, Google Workspace

• Process: two-week sprints, code reviews, tests, automating whatever we can, and deploying multiple times per day.
