About the role

Operational focus · process-driven · hands-on execution

At Tomorrow University, we are building a remote-first, international university with clear structures and reliable operations. As a Senior People Operations Manager, you are responsible for the operational execution of our People processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and smooth day-to-day workflows.

Your main tasks will include:

1 People Operations & Administration

Own and manage our employee systems (e.g. HRIS), ensuring high data accuracy and well-structured, scalable workflows.
Oversee the preparation of contracts, amendments, certificates, and all critical employee documentation with high precision.
Continuously audit, improve, and standardize People Operations processes to increase efficiency, clarity, and scalability across the organization.
Drive the implementation of automation and smarter workflows (e.g. within HRIS, payroll, on-/offboarding) to optimize documentation and administrative processes.
Lead the operational execution of the employee lifecycle, ensuring seamless recruiting support, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
Manage and ensure the accuracy of the monthly payroll process in collaboration with external payroll providers.
Ensure full compliance with German labor law and manage international employment setups in coordination with external partners.
Lead the coordination of the bi-annual growth cycle, ensuring operational excellence in surveys, data preparation, and system updates.


2 Recruiting Operations

Oversee and lead recruiting processes when needed, ensuring high-quality job postings, professional candidate communication, and efficient interview scheduling.
Conduct and refine initial screening interviews to identify top-tier talent and ensure cultural alignment.
Manage external recruitment partners for sourcing and screening when more than two roles are open, ensuring high service standards and seamless coordination.
Ensure the integrity of recruiting data and documentation within our systems to support data-driven decision-making.


3 Internal Coordination & Events

Drive the organization of company-wide Workations and Onsites from a strategic and logistical perspective (research, bookings, and end-to-end coordination).
Manage and optimize internal calendars, documentation, and follow-up processes to ensure People Operations run seamlessly.
Serve as the primary point of contact for procedural and administrative People-related matters, efficiently guiding non-operational topics to the appropriate owner.

What we are looking for:

Experience: You have 5+ years of experience in People Operations, employee administration, or a similar operational role, ideally within a fast-paced or remote-first environment.
Operational Excellence: You thrive on building structured, detail-oriented workflows and have a proven track record of taking full ownership of complex operational processes.
Discretion: You have extensive experience handling sensitive data and a deep understanding of the critical nature of data accuracy and confidentiality.
Independence: You work with a high degree of autonomy and reliability, proactively identifying when processes need clarification, refinement, or escalation.
Tech Mastery: You are a power user of digital tools such as HRIS systems, Slack, and Notion, and you enjoy leveraging them to increase team efficiency.
Legal & Payroll Expertise: You have native-level German proficiency and are fully confident managing contracts, complex payroll topics, and labor-law-related communication.
International Mindset: You are fluent in English and highly comfortable navigating a diverse, international, English-speaking environment.
Location: Preferably, you are based in Germany and/or open to occasional travel (e.g., Berlin or Frankfurt) to connect with the team.


Please note that professional fluency (C1 or higher) in both English and German is required for this position.
