Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Live Stream System Operations Engineer to grow with our expanding live stream operations. You will serve as the technical steward for our live operations, responsible for the reliability and security of the video pipeline from source to screen. This role demands a systematic approach to high-stakes broadcasting: managing vendor compliance, configuring multi-CDN strategies, and executing robust security policies like Geo-blocking and token authentication. You will be the primary point of contact during live outages, expected to troubleshoot issues across the Source, Encoder, and CDN layers with a calm, analytical minds

What You Will Do

• Manage the complete live events signal lifecycle, including cloud encoder configuration, signal verification (Satellite/IP), and redundancy planning

• Serve as the technical lead and primary owner during live outages. You will troubleshoot critical issues across the Source, Encoder, CDN, and Application layers, and execute emergency failover protocols when necessary

• Establish deep-dive monitoring frameworks to proactively detect playback anomalies and drive data-backed improvements.

• Manage relationships with external stream providers, strictly enforcing video feed specifications and Service Level Agreements (SLAs)

• Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) sessions after incidents. Develop scripts to automate repetitive operational tasks, minimizing manual intervention and human error

• Implement and manage advanced security workflows beyond standard DRM, including Forensic Watermarking, token-based authentication, and strict Geo-blocking/VPN detection policies to protect high-value sports rights

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of total experience, including a minimum of 2 years in Live Sports Broadcasting or OTT Sports Operations

• Comprehensive knowledge of the streaming stack, including ABR (HLS/DASH), codecs (H.264/HEVC), container formats, Live DRM, and video player playback logic

• Deep understanding of IP transmission standards, specifically SRT, Zixi, RTMP, and RTP

• Hands-on experience configuring hardware encoders and managing signal flows within a live sports production environment

• Proven background in a 24/7 Network Operations Centre (NOC) or Master Control Room (MCR), with a systematic approach to incident management and standard operating procedures (SOPs)

• Ability to plan and execute live events with high concurrency (High CCU), including CDN bandwidth capacity planning and system resilience design

• Proficiency with cloud video workflows on platforms such as AWS (Media Services) or Azure

• Experience implementing and managing multi-CDN strategies for global content delivery

Preferred Qualifications

• Deep understanding of SSAI and CSAI workflows, with the ability to troubleshoot SCTE-35 signalling, resolve ad-insertion failures, and optimize ad-serving performance.

• Hands-on experience managing LL-HLS or WebRTC to deliver ultra-low latency, interactive viewing experiences.

• Proven track record of designing and executing high-concurrency live events, successfully scaling to support 1 million+ Concurrent Users (CCU).

• Experience managing resilient HLS workflows using AWS MediaLive with automated failover logic and multi-CDN distribution.

• Ability to design reliable signal transmission architectures from remote on-site locations back to the central control room.

• Able to manage complex ancillary data workflows, ensuring the correct propagation of Closed Captions and multi-language audio tracks across the entire encoding and delivery chain to meet regulatory compliance
