Senior Infrastructure Engineer- Network Engineer

• The Senior Infrastructure Engineer executes a range of activities using Automation, Enterprise Systems Management (ESM), and Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CICD) technologies, delivering key capabilities within the infrastructure landscape.

• Executes the implementation of high-level designs for stable network and infrastructure environments that meet the needs of Entain, are shared with partners, and are compliant with current security, privacy, and audit requirements. 

• Maintains IT Infrastructure components, tools or locations and ensures the creation of designs on services (e.g., network, security, storage, compute), produced in line with design standards, with minimal guidance

• Provides technical knowledge and expertise where needed to support managers, principals or technical experts to resolve issues

• Collaborates with application development, enterprise architecture, infrastructure and cyber security teams to develop and implement a compelling product roadmap

• Executes the automation and orchestration capabilities across the environment and establishes processes and procedures that promote efficiency, solving a range of day-to-day user problems

• Delivers day-to-day support to internal tools and system health, as well as infrastructure implemented for all projects and manages customer support contracts

• Collaborates with technical architects, using technical knowledge and experience to translate architectural designs into operations

• Documents the processes, measurements, and assessments required for both individual and project work

• Continuously develops and shares with team knowledge on emerging trends and changes in infrastructure engineering

• Supports the implementation of ways to improve working processes within the area of infrastructure engineering responsibility through data analysis, including network and infrastructure performance and health, to identify issues and areas for improvement

Qualifications: Education & Experience

• Education: Completed a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in core networking.
• Language: Fluent English (minimum B1 level) is a prerequisite.

Technical Skills

Core Networking

• Network Topology & TCP/IP: Strong foundational knowledge for designing and troubleshooting networks.
• DNS: Expertise in name resolution and application connectivity.
• Routing & Switching (Cisco/Juniper): Proficient in managing enterprise networks and ensuring efficient traffic flow.
• Firewalls (FortiGate/Palo Alto): Skilled in network security and segmentation.

Advanced Networking

• Strong experience installing, configuring, and managing HAProxy / F5 in production environments
• Ability to troubleshoot L4/L7 traffic flows and HAProxy / F5 configuration issues
• DDoS Mitigation: Experience in protecting against large-scale attacks.
• Application Layer: Understanding of HTTP/HTTPS, SSL/TLS for secure communication.

Automation & Scripting

Hands-on experience scripting with Python, Bash, or PowerShell

Knowledge of: REST APIs (F5 iControl REST, HAProxy Data Plane API), Infrastructure automation tools (Ansible preferred), CI/CD pipeline integration for configuration deployment, Configuration management using Git

Monitoring 

• Network Monitoring: Familiarity with SNMP, REST APIs, and monitoring tools for proactive issue detection

Cloud & Remote Access

• Cloud Technologies (AWS/GCP): Ability to design and manage hybrid or cloud-native network architectures using services like VPC, Direct Connect, and Transit Gateway.
• Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) with Palo Alto: Implement secure remote access solutions based on Zero Trust principles, ensuring identity-based access control and minimizing attack surfaces.

Social Skills

• Strong communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Ability to perform under pressure and in stressful situations.
• Team player with the capability to work independently when required.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and delivery-focused working attitude.

Additional Requirement

• On-Call Support: Must be available to participate in an on-call rota if required.
