DMG Entertainment is a global media and entertainment company based in Beverly Hills, with activities across film, television, gaming, comic book publishing, and related entertainment properties. Its portfolio includes Valiant Entertainment, which owns one of the largest independent superhero universes in comics, with a large library of characters and IP developed across publishing, licensing, film, and other media.
The company is looking for a strong finance leader who can bring more structure, speed, and strategic thinking to the finance function. This is an opportunity to help modernize financial operations, improve reporting and cash flow visibility, guide accounting support staff, and introduce smarter systems and AI-enabled tools in place of manual, spreadsheet-heavy processes. The ideal person will combine solid U.S. compliance knowledge with a proactive mindset and the ability to help the business scale more effectively
Responsibilities
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and financial reporting across monthly, quarterly, and annual cycles
• Ensure strong compliance with U.S. financial regulations and standards, including GAAP, IRS requirements, SEC reporting, and SOX where applicable
• Provide guidance and direction to bookkeepers and other finance support staff, ensuring work is coded and structured correctly from an accounting and tax perspective
• Improve and modernize financial processes by identifying opportunities for automation and better workflow design
• Research, evaluate, and implement AI-powered and finance technology tools to improve reporting speed, accuracy, forecasting, and decision-making
• Help design scalable accounting and finance processes for a growing business, with a strong focus on efficiency and control
• Present financial insights and recommendations clearly to company leadership and key stakeholders
• Assess the operational and compliance implications of adopting new AI and financial tools, including data integrity, privacy, and audit trail considerations.
Requirements:
• Strong experience in U.S. accounting, financial compliance, and reporting
• Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP, IRS regulations, and general U.S. financial controls; exposure to SEC reporting and SOX is a plus
• Experience working with U.S.-based entities and advising on accounting treatment, financial structure, and compliance decisions
• Ability to guide bookkeepers and finance support staff with a strong understanding of how transactions should be classified and managed
• Experience improving finance processes, reporting workflows, and planning practices
• Openness to AI tools, automation, and modern finance systems
• Strong strategic thinking, ownership, and communication skills
Nice to Have
• CPA or equivalent strong U.S. accounting certification/background
• Experience in multi-entity or multi-state U.S. businesses
• Experience implementing financial systems, automation, or AI-enabled finance tools
