About this Role:
We’re seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Platform Engineering team at Fam. In this role, you’ll own the design, development, operational excellence, and quality assurance of the underlying infrastructure and developer platforms that power our product teams.
You’ll drive scalability, reliability, automation, and testing standards across our cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, internal tooling, and developer workflows. This role requires strong technical leadership combined with people management skills to build a robust platform engineering function that enables rapid, secure, and high-quality product innovation.

On the Job:
• Lead and manage a team of 6-8 platform engineers focused on building scalable infrastructure, automation tools, internal platforms, and testing frameworks.
• Own the end-to-end delivery of platform initiatives including cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes orchestration, CI/CD pipeline enhancements, infrastructure-as-code (IaC) automation, and platform testing strategies.
• Establish and enforce best practices for infrastructure management, deployment processes, automated testing, monitoring, and incident response.
• Collaborate closely with product engineering teams, security, and IT to align platform capabilities and quality standards with business needs and growth plans.
• Drive improvements in system reliability, performance, testing coverage, and developer productivity through automation and tooling.
• Identify bottlenecks in platform operations, development workflows, and testing processes; champion process improvements and technology upgrades.
• Foster a culture of knowledge sharing, continuous learning, high-quality engineering, and innovation within the platform team.

Must haves:
• 10+ years of software engineering experience with significant exposure to platform engineering, infrastructure, DevOps, and testing/QA.
• Should have managed teams for 4 to 5 years
• Hands on experience with automated testing tools for functional and NFR testing
• Will operate in a systematic and process-oriented manner, yet remain agile.
• Proven experience leading and scaling engineering teams focused on platform or infrastructure projects.
• Strong expertise with cloud platforms (preferably AWS), container orchestration (Kubernetes), infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Pulumi), and automated testing frameworks.
• Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, deployment strategies, and quality assurance best practices.
• Experience with monitoring, alerting, incident management, and testing of distributed systems.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with ability to align platform initiatives and quality standards with broader business and product goals.

Good to Haves:
• Experience in fintech, payments, or other highly regulated industries.
• Experience with DORA or related frameworks
• Knowledge of security best practices in platform engineering and compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with microservices architectures, service mesh technologies, and test automation tools.
• Background in Agile methodologies and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Exposure to cost optimization and cloud governance.
