What's Exciting About the Role

We are seeking a high-energy, dynamic, and results-driven Senior Director of Corporate Communications to lead and execute internal, executive and external communications strategies. This leader will be responsible for supporting a strategic, long-term communications agenda that aligns with Verifone’s business priorities, advances and protects the reputation of the company, and strengthens engagement with key internal and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will be AI proficient and transformation tested, excels in a fast-paced environment, and comfortable with multi-tasking on critical projects. This role requires a communicator who brings expertise in building trust, belief, and advocacy across a business through internal and executive communications.

Location: Three days per week in the New York City office as part of our hybrid work model.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a modern communications strategy that aligns with Verifone’s business goals and values.

• Govern the corporate messaging framework and ensure consistency across all communications channels.

• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, providing counsel on communication strategies, change management and crisis response.

• Empower global teams and scale content through a human-AI collaboration, using large language models and other AI tools to innovate communications and optimize efficiencies.

• Manage and execute a strategic internal communications plan to educate, align and engage stakeholders around the mission, vision and goals of Verifone, including change management communications.

• Oversee internal communication channels to keep global employees informed and engaged, including email, Intranet, Microsoft Teams communities, town halls, global events and offsites.

• Direct the production, content and ongoing evolution of Verifone’s Intranet.

• Create a dynamic thought leadership strategy that positions the company and its leaders at the forefront of fintech innovation.

• Craft and deliver executive communications that reflect the leadership voice and organizational values.

• Anticipate communication needs throughout the calendar year and proactively prepare executive messaging aligned with business priorities.

• Establish ROI measurements by building dashboards, tracking engagement, and measuring the impact of communications on the business through reporting.

• Manage agency partners as needed.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in corporate communications, with at least 5 years working closely with C-suite/VP-level management.

• Proven ability to lead, influence, and align across cross-functional global teams.

• Experience at a publicly traded company and/or experience in merger and acquisition communications, with preference working at B2B and fintech brands.

• Expert verbal, written, research, communication, and presentation material skills; strong editing skills; web knowledge, digital savvy.

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize high volume, high priority initiatives.

• Strong knowledge of corporate internal and employee engagement strategies, best practices, implementation and execution

• Demonstrated ability to integrate emerging technologies into communications strategies.

• Ability to leverage data-driven insights to inform messaging, audience targeting and campaign performance.

• Experience in creating and implementing communications strategies for a large, complex organization, experience in financial services and companies having undergone transformation, is preferred.

• Demonstrated experience in integrating communications strategy into the fabric of the organization and effectively reaching and influencing intended audiences.

• Ability to exercise independent judgment and take initiative in an environment with shifting priorities.

• Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours depending on business needs.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.
