Job Description

These positions are part of the epay Infrastructure Engineering organization, and are a full-time, permanent, hybrid position. The position works in a collaborative environment to support both new business initiatives and stability of existing systems.

Aiming to fill a position that will focus on supporting all relational database management systems in our environment, primarily MySQL, MS SQL and PostgreSQL. The ideal candidate would feel a sense of ownership and enjoy being measured on results of high level KPI’s of uptime and project results.

Core Responsibilities

MySQL

· Maintain and support highly available clusters.

· Perform monitoring, backups, and routine maintenance.

· Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues.

Microsoft Server

· Basic administration of Windows Server (2016/2019/2022).

· Monitor server health and performance.

· Troubleshoot OS-level incidents.

English Fluency

· Ability to communicate effectively via phone and video conference.

· Produce clear, formal technical documentation in English.

Requirements:
Desired Technical Skills

Microsoft SQL Server

· Experience with MS SQL Server (2016, 2017, 2019, and 2022).

· Configure, monitor, and maintain Always On Availability Groups.

· Perform SQL Server installations, upgrades, and optimizations.

· Automate DBA tasks with PowerShell.

· Implement monitoring, alerting, and diagnostics (WMI, SNMP, PerfMon).

· Optimize queries and execution plans.

· Manage database backup/restore and replication.

MySQL & PostgreSQL

· Administer and maintain highly available clusters.

· Handle monitoring, backups, and troubleshooting.

· Operate MySQL within Kubernetes environments using operators.

Containers & Cloud Databases (Understanding of containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes); experience with Amazon RDS, Cloud SQL, or similar managed database services is a plus.)

Automation & CI/CD (Experience writing scripts in Bash, Batch, or PowerShell; experience with Terraform for infrastructure automation is a plus; familiarity with GitHub and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.)

Weekends off, Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.
