The position is in  Wealth Compliance in Legal & Regulatory Compliance within the Complaints and Investigation (C&I) team. This position is responsible for compiling data and where applicable leveraging technology, including AI to assist in reporting, regulatory complaint reviews and investigations.

Develops and maintains compliance information for analysis and reporting. Achieves compliance goals by providing the team with data to increase productivity, by responding to regulatory investigations and assisting with complaint reviews and investigations. Contributes to managing regulatory risk by providing accurate and timely data for responses to regulatory requests. Co-leads internal reporting to help identify trends and manage risk.

Works with business/group and internal partners to ensure regulatory, corporate and fiduciary obligations are met. Develops and maintains compliance information for analysis and reporting. Achieves compliance goals by maintaining current knowledge of regulatory requirements and developments. Maintains functional and regulatory expertise specific to business group, and refers to Compliance Policies & Procedures manuals for requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Compiling data to manage risk and ensure accurate internal and external reporting to senior management and regulatory authorities.

• Provide advice and guidance to the compliance team based on data compiled regarding the issue under review.

• Creating and maintaining data models to assist the C&I team with profit/loss and suitability analysis.

• Serves as one of the primary contacts for C&I teams monthly and quarterly internal reporting.

• Tracking and reporting of assigned items to impacted businesses, management teams and various committees.

• Partner with Legal colleagues to provide data to outside counsel.

• Manage and maintain the integrity of the team’s reporting statistics.

• Support the development and testing of automation and continued enhancement of current tools.

• Review and update applicable reporting procedures and standard documents.

• Build effective professional relationships with C& I team and business partners.

• Escalate issues and risks to management where appropriate.

• Work independently and regularly handles non-routine situations.

• Operate as a self-directed contributor, independently managing multiple workstreams and seeing assigned projects through completion.

• Assists with investigations and regulatory responses.

Qualifications:

• Typically between 3 to 5 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Experience in Regulatory Reporting strongly preferred.

• CSC or recognized compliance certificate is a plus.

• Strong communication, critical thinking, relationship management and project management skills.

• Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through  education and business experience.

• Proficient in MS excel, MS Access and the use of pivot tables and macros to manage and manipulate data.

• Working knowledge and understanding of SQL and/or Python

• Currently required to work on-site 3 days per week and available to work 4 days onsite if and when required.

Salary:

$61,600.00 - $113,900.00

Salaried

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
