Security Engineering Lead

SOSi is seeking highly qualified senior professionals to support a DHS enterprise cybersecurity program providing 24/7 Security Operations Center (SOC) services. These roles deliver leadership, operational oversight, and technical expertise across cyber defense, incident response, intelligence, engineering, and modernization activities. This role provides technical leadership for SOC security engineering and modernization, including integration and sustainment of SIEM/SOAR/EDR/IDS-IPS platforms; ensures standards compliance and performance optimization.

Responsibilities

• Engineer, integrate, and sustain SOC tools/platforms, drive configuration management and optimization.
• Support Zero Trust, automation, and telemetry coverage across cloud and on-prem.
• Evaluate and test new technologies; produce technical reports and implementation plans.

• Experience:• Three (3) years' experience security administration systems and support.
• Strong working knowledge of Security Services, Networking, Security Policy, and Consulting.
• Proven experience in installing, configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting network security solutions and related monitoring tools including L2 / L3 network devices, Network Admission Control (NAC), 802.1x, Firewalls, IDS / IPS, VPN Solutions, Web Application Firewalls, Content Filtering, NetFlow Analysis.
• Advanced working knowledge of encryption algorithms, secure communications, SIEM technologies, and embedded systems security.
• Advanced working knowledge of network and data communication protocols.
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field such as NIST, FISMA and Common Criteria regulations and standards.
• Experience with Network based IDS / IPS technologies and affiliated modes of operation.
• Experienced in evaluating new technologies and processes that enhance security capabilities.
• Experience with Test security solutions using industry standard analysis criteria.
• Experience with the delivery technical reports and formal papers on test findings
• Experience responding to information security issues during each stage of a project’s lifecycle to include:

• Supervise changes in software, hardware, facilities, telecommunications and user needs.

• Interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members.

• Strong written and oral communication.

• Strong diagnosis and troubleshooting skills.

• Certifications (Required – one of): A+, Security+, or Network+; CISSP preferred.
• Clearance: Secret, (TS eligible).

Work Environment

• Work hybrid/on-site as required. 
• Normal office conditions with potential to perform duties in CONUS locations.
• Core hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 0600 – 1700.
• May be requested to work evenings and weekends to meet program and contract needs.
