We’re looking for a Strategic Sales Manager (individual contributor) to join our Milan team. In this role, you’ll help us expand our Italian footprint by onboarding the most relevant grocery and retail partners, acting as a consultant to drive their long-term growth on our platform.

You’ll be joining the Sales Grocery & Retail team. We are a passionate, dynamic group of consultants who use data-driven insights and industry knowledge to unlock new revenue channels for our partners.

Here’s what your day-to-day might look like:

• Pitch and Close: Proactively secure partnerships with major grocery players in Italy using a multi-channel approach, including cold calls, site visits, and in-person meetings.

• Pipeline Management: Take full ownership of your sales funnel, managing a portfolio of leads to ensure high conversion rates and consistently exceeding volume and quality targets.

• End-to-End Negotiation: Lead the entire sales cycle, crafting strategic and attractive offers that align with both partner needs and Deliveroo’s business objectives.

• Seamless Integration: Oversee the complete onboarding process, from initial registration through to operational launch and the generation of first sales.

• Strategic Initiatives: Collaborate with the wider commercial team on ad-hoc projects, such as field pitch days, marketing roll-outs, and cross-functional growth experiments.

What You’ll Need to Thrive

Our ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in some of these areas and curiosity to grow in others:

• Sector Expertise: Significant B2B sales experience within the grocery, retail, or FMCG sectors (experience with Large Organised Distribution/GDO is highly preferred).

• Sales Grit: A proven track record of scaling portfolios and the perseverance to handle rejection while pursuing ambitious targets.

• Communication Mastery: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to persuade senior stakeholders and build lasting professional relationships.

• Data-Driven Mindset: A passion for using data and insights to inform strategy and demonstrate value to potential partners.

• Collaborative Spirit: A true team-player attitude, with a focus on winning together and supporting cross-functional goals.
