As a Quality Assurance professional, the individual serves as the primary guardian of this integrity. This role offers an unparalleled opportunity to be part of a high-performing DevSecOps team in a "can't fail" environment, where the technical stack includes cutting-edge AWS cloud services, advanced WebFOCUS analytics, and a robust Selenium automation framework. This position is on site in Washington, DC and requires an active Top-Secret clearance.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The duties of the Quality Assurance professional are designed to be both highly technical and strategically impactful.
1) Orchestrate the Automated Regression Framework: The individual will lead the expansion and maintenance of the existing Selenium-based automated testing catalog. This involves developing sophisticated test cases that cover data ingestion and reporting functions, ensuring that new code deployments do not introduce regressions into the mission-critical FRA-C and FDDW environments.
2) Facilitate Stakeholder Collaboration and UAT: The manager acts as the functional bridge between the technical development team and FBI business users. This includes supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by designing test scenarios that reflect complex financial workflows and mentoring junior analysts on automated testing best practices.
3) Manage High-Impact Quality Deliverables: The individual is responsible for the timely update of the Quality Assurance Plans (QAP). This documents must provide evidence of rigorous performance testing, defect resolution times, and adherence to security controls.
Required Skills & Experience
The nature of the FBI’s mission and the technical complexity of the ATS BI Suite necessitate a strict set of baseline qualifications. Candidates must meet these criteria to be considered for the position.
1) Security Clearance: An active Top Secret (TS) clearance is required.
2) Experience Level: A minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in software quality assurance
3) Automation Mastery: Demonstrated experience in designing and maintaining automated testing frameworks using Selenium
4) Cloud Competency: Hands-on experience performing quality assurance in cloud-native environments, specifically within AWS
5) DevSecOps Literacy: Proven ability to work within an Agile/Scrum framework and an understanding of CI/CD principles and GitLab pipeline operations
6) Communication Skills: Excellence in technical writing and verbal communication is essential for presenting quality metrics, risk assessments, and progress reports to both technical teams and senior FBI management.
7) Degree: A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Desired Skills & Experience
1) BI Tooling Familiarity: Previous experience with Tibco WebFOCUS or similar enterprise business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for financial reporting
2) Scripting for QA: Proficiency in Python for developing custom data validation scripts and automating repetitive manual checks
3) Database Proficiency: Advanced Structured Query Language (SQL) skills are required for backend data validation, data mapping verification, and the identification of discrepancies in large-scale data warehouses (e.g., AWS Redshift)
4) Certification: Possession of industry-recognized certifications such as ISTQB (Certified Tester), AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, or CompTIA Security+
5)Domain Expertise: Prior experience supporting financial, budget, or procurement systems within the Department of Justice or other federal intelligence agencies.
