QA Test Analyst (6 month Contract Role)

Job Description

We are looking for a QA Test Analyst who is passionate about automation and takes pride in building high quality, reliable test frameworks. In this role, you will design, develop and enhance automated testing solutions using Playwright and JavaScript, helping us deliver confident, high quality releases across our web applications and APIs. While automation is at the heart of the role, you will also contribute to thoughtful manual validation where needed to ensure nothing slips through the cracks.

This is an on site contract role, working five days per week from our Lahore office.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Design, write and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright and JavaScript

• Execute and debug tests using Node.js and CLI environments

• Manage environment specific configurations

• Prepare and execute manual test cases and test plans

• Create and execute test plans in Jira Xray

• Review requirements and solution documents before test preparation

• Analyse test results, log defects in Jira and validate fixes

• Provide effort estimates and support release readiness decisions

• Contribute to automation framework improvements

• Collaborate using Git and GitHub, including Pull Requests

• Work within Agile Scrum delivery cycles

 

 

Qualifications Required (non negotiable)

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field

• 4 to 6 years experience in QA with strong automation focus

• Hands on experience with Playwright

• Strong JavaScript skills, including async and await

• Working knowledge of Node.js

• Experience maintaining automation frameworks

• Proficiency in Git and GitHub workflows

• Experience with Jira and Xray for test management

• Experience in web application and API testing

• Experience using Bruno or similar API tools

• Basic understanding of SQL

• Familiarity with CI CD pipelines and environment based testing

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills

• Ability to take ownership and work independently

• Experience working with distributed onshore and offshore teams across multiple time zones

• Experience working within an international company environment

• Certifications such as ISTQB are a plus but not required

• Do you have 4–6 years (or more) of professional experience in QA/testing roles, with at least the majority focused on automation testing? (If yes → approximately how many years in automation?)
• Have you worked hands-on with Playwright for end-to-end browser automation? (If yes → in which language(s), and roughly how long / on how many projects?)
• How do you handle flaky tests or timeouts in Playwright? Give one or two common techniques you've applied.
• Describe how you've maintained or contributed to an existing automation framework (e.g., adding new utilities, refactoring locators, improving reporting).
• Have you worked in Agile Scrum teams (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives)? How frequently, and in what capacity as a QA?
