Senior QA Engineer

We’re hiring a Senior QA Engineer who blends strong automation skills with structured manual testing. This role owns quality for their product team, builds reliable automated test suites, and helps shape our testing standards as we scale. You’ll work across engineering, product, and DevOps to ensure every release ships with confidence.

Overview

You’ll design, implement, and maintain automated test suites while executing manual, exploratory, and regression testing. You’ll work across integration tests, end-to-end flows, manual validation, CI/CD pipelines, and release readiness. At this level, you’ll independently run established QA processes, contribute to test automation architecture, and evolve testing practices as we grow.

• Strong, stable E2E and integration coverage

• Fewer escaped defects due to automation-first testing

• Reliable Cypress suites running cleanly in CI/CD

• Clear reporting on coverage, flakiness, and release risk

• Predictable, confident releases backed by quality gates

Key Responsibilities

Automation and Engineering Quality

• Build and maintain automated test suites using Cypress

• Write and maintain BDD scenarios with Cucumber (Gherkin)

• Create automated E2E flows for core user journeys

• Implement integration tests for APIs and service interactions

• Follow strong engineering practices (clean code, modularity, page/object models)

• Maintain test data, environments, and automation stability

• Contribute to automation frameworks and shared QA utilities

CI/CD and Quality Gates

• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD

• Enforce quality gates and prevent risky releases

• Improve test speed, reliability, and determinism

• Partner with DevOps on pipeline and environment optimization

Reporting and Observability

• Produce automated test reports and dashboards

• Surface insights on coverage, flake rate, failure patterns, and release risk

• Drive prioritization and improvements using quality data

Manual Testing

• Create and execute manual test cases for new features

• Perform regression, smoke, and exploratory testing

• Validate edge cases and complex scenarios not suited for automation

• Execute pre-release validation and verify defect fixes

Collaboration and Quality Culture

• Work with engineering and product to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria

• Participate in sprint ceremonies, test planning, and estimation

• Influence testing standards and help strengthen a quality-first culture

Qualifications

• 5+ years in QA or software testing

• Strong manual testing and test case design skills

• Hands-on experience with automation frameworks

• Practical experience with Cypress

• Familiarity with BDD and Gherkin

• Ability to turn requirements into test scenarios

• Comfortable in Agile environments

Preferred Skills

• Cypress + Cucumber in production

• API and integration testing

• Experience building or extending E2E frameworks

• CI/CD experience (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI, etc.)

• Test reporting tools and dashboards

• JavaScript/TypeScript familiarity

• Understanding of the test pyramid

• Experience with quality gates and release automation
