QA Engineer – Automation Focus

About The Role

You will be an integral member of one of Flexion's team as a QA Engineer or a Software Development Engineer in testing representative and will be working closely with team members in different locations. 

You will take ownership of the QA tasks and processes and be responsible for manual and automated testing our flagship products and games to ensure they work flawlessly on a large number of devices and apps. You will work closely with other Stakeholders, QA engineers and developers to define and run complex test cases, potentially get involved in automation and take a crucial role in making sure we can deliver the best billing, ads and analytics solutions to the biggest mobile games on the market.

Main Responsibilities

Drive test automation efforts and AI usage

Be an advocate for increasing efficiency within the software development workflow from a QA perspective

Ownership and responsibility for ensuring the delivered product and service meets agreed quality standards - managing QA processes and activities accordingly to ensure agreed objectives are met

Identifying and recommending remedial action as and when required if deficiencies are identified in QA processes, ways of working or tools

Being a center of excellence inside the allocated team and actively working with the development managers to improve and optimize the QA aspect in that team

Participate in the ongoing testing efforts in the allocated team as a dedicated tester

Design test cases and test plans

Executing - or driving the execution of - test plans, raise and investigate bugs, validate the fixes

Prepare test systems and data to support easy execution of planned test cases

Initialize exploratory testing sessions if and when necessary

Coordinate with 3rd party testing teams if necessary

Provide QA reports demonstrating product quality and readiness for production

Participate in improving test coverage and reducing risk factors during the release of stories, new games or game versions, identify new tools and ways of working

Measure software quality and ensure it is maintained and improved over the lifetime of the product

Essential Skills and Requirements

Proficiency in reading, writing and speaking in English

Proficient with Windows, Google Suite, 

Basic Java

Appium (or Selenium)

JUnit / TestNG or similar framework

BDD (or TDD)

At least 2-3 years of experience in a testing role

Proactive attitude - being able to analyze, improve and take responsibility for the QA processes, synchronizing with development managers and other QA team members dedicated to other teams on how to maintain the best test coverage possible and high software quality

Experience using test case management tools and bug tracking software e.g. Jira, Testrail

Experience working with Android devices or having a better than average understanding on them.

Experience working with large and complex set of test cases

Previous experience from high-paced environments a strong plus

Desirable Skills and Experiences

Experience working within a SCRUM / Agile framework

Experience with Android testing tools, Cucumber, Gherkin syntax, Tesseract

Knowledge of Linux/UNIX and associated command line and scripting tools

Basic level experience with MySQL, HeidiSQL/Workbench and the ability to query and manage databases/views

Experience with Docker, Jenkins is beneficial

Enthusiastic and optimistic mindset, proactive approach to solving problems, involving the right people in a timely manner to do so, being able to communicate with Stakeholders business (product owners, developers, sales, etc.)

Strong ability and willingness to learn

A passion for delivering high quality solutions

Education:

Educated to degree level in computer science or related discipline, and / or significant hands-on experience in the field
