The Opportunity

Join PICTON Investments as a Portfolio Construction Associate-an exceptional early-career opportunity to learn directly from senior investment professionals in a leading alternative asset management environment. This full-time role is designed for a motivated recent graduate eager to launch a career in portfolio consulting, with immediate exposure to cross-functional projects that shape how portfolios are constructed, analyzed, and optimized.

You’ll collaborate closely with teams across Investments, Quantitative Research, Sales, Product, and Marketing, building a strong foundation in asset allocation, risk management, and performance attribution. From day one, you’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of projects, contribute meaningful insights, and develop in-demand skills that will enable you to grow and thrive within one of the most dynamic and rapidly growing field of specialty within the asset management industry.

The expected annual salary for this role is $60,000–$100,000, with the final number depending on your experience, skills, education, and team budget. On top of that, you’ll be eligible for our discretionary bonus program.

You'll have the opportunity to learn and lead:

Conduct detailed analysis to support portfolio construction, asset allocation, risk management, and implementation across multiple asset classes and strategies.

Work with portfolio analytics platforms to monitor performance, assess risk exposures, and prepare recommendations.

Partner with cross-functional teams-including Sales, Product, Quantitative Research, Investment, and Marketing-to support client portfolio reviews and strategic initiatives.

Participate in the development of new initiatives related to portfolio construction, performance attribution, and risk management.

Respond to ad hoc analytical and research requests from internal stakeholders.

What we're looking for

A post-secondary degree in engineering, mathematics, statistics, computer science, finance, or a related discipline.

A strong interest in portfolio construction, investment strategy, data analysis, and financial markets.

Exposure to data science or statistical programming (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB) is a plus-but not required.

Experience or familiarity with portfolio analytics/risk platforms is a plus.

Ability to learn and apply quantitative tools to analyze data and solve problems.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

A collaborative mindset and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

A proactive attitude and entrepreneurial spirit.

CFA Level I candidate or willingness to pursue CFA/FRM designation would be considered an asset.
