About the role
We are looking for an Platform Architect to join us in Bengaluru. This role sits at the centre of our Platform Solutions group, shaping the architectural direction of our Spire platform and influencing the evolution of our wider product ecosystem across Trading, Post-Trade, Data & Analytics and RegTech.
This is a senior individual contributor role with broad influence across engineering, product and infrastructure teams. You will guide architectural standards, support modernisation initiatives and ensure our platform remains modular, scalable and aligned with long-term business strategy, with the opportunity to build and lead a small architecture team as the platform matures.
What you’ll do
• Shape the architectural roadmap for the Spire platform while contributing to the broader direction of our product ecosystem
• Define and embed platform-wide architecture principles across engineering, product and infrastructure teams
• Design modular, component-based architectures that support multi-tenant SaaS and hybrid deployment models
• Lead strategies to decompose monolithic systems into scalable, versioned and maintainable components
• Analyse distributed systems to identify bottlenecks and implement patterns that improve resilience, availability and latency
• Provide architectural leadership for cloud migration, platform consolidation and modernisation programmes
• Assess acquired technologies and define integration approaches aligned with long-term platform strategy
• Evaluate build versus buy decisions and identify opportunities to simplify and rationalise the technology landscape
• Establish consistent integration patterns across APIs, messaging systems and third-party connectivity
• Promote strong data architecture practices including schema design, ownership models and data consistency strategies
• Produce clear architecture documentation, diagrams and decision records for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Conduct design and code reviews to ensure alignment with architectural standards and engineering quality
• Influence technical decision-making across the SDLC through collaboration with cross-functional teams
• Ensure architecture incorporates security, privacy and regulatory requirements relevant to our platform
• Guide the adoption of containerisation, Kubernetes orchestration and progressive deployment strategies
• Support platform designs that operate reliably across cloud-native, on-premise and hosted environments
• Drive cost-conscious architectural decisions aligned with a delivery-focused environment
What we’re looking for
• Extensive experience in platform architecture with a strong background in SaaS and distributed systems design
• Deep understanding of modular architecture, service decomposition and versioning strategies in complex environments
• Strong expertise in API design, messaging systems and system interoperability across distributed platforms
• Proven experience diagnosing and resolving performance challenges in high-scale distributed systems
• Hands-on knowledge of containerisation technologies, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines
• Solid understanding of enterprise data architecture, including schema evolution and data lineage
• Experience delivering cloud migration or modernisation programmes within constrained or legacy environments
• Ability to influence technical direction across multiple teams without direct reporting authority
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders
• Familiarity with security, privacy and compliance considerations in SaaS platform design
• Commercial awareness with the ability to balance scalability, performance and cost efficiency
• Collaborative mindset with strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
