M9 Solutions is seeking an Oracle DBA to work on-site for a client located in Springfield, VA. An active TS/SCI clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and support Oracle databases across development, test, and production environments.

• Perform database installation, upgrades, patches, and migrations (on-prem and cloud).

• Implement and manage backup/recovery strategies using RMAN and other tools.

• Monitor database performance and conduct advanced performance tuning and optimization.

• Configure and maintain high-availability and disaster recovery solutions (Data Guard, RAC, GoldenGate, etc.)

• Support cloud deployment activities, including provisioning, configuration, and migration of databases to/from cloud platforms.

• Automate routine DBA tasks using scripts (Shell, Python, SQL, PL/SQL).

• Troubleshoot database issues, outages, and performance bottlenecks.

• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to support application requirements.

• Ensure database security, compliance, and best practices are followed.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI and must be a U.S. citizen.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

• 8+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA.

• Strong experience with Oracle 12c/19c administration.

• Proven experience with cloud platforms (OCI strongly preferred; AWS/Azure acceptable).

• Solid knowledge of RMAN, Data Guard, RAC, ASM, and Oracle Enterprise Manager.

• Experience with performance tuning and diagnostics (AWR, ASH, OEM tools).

• Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and shell scripting.

• Experience migrating databases to cloud environments (OCI, AWS RDS, Azure Database).

• Knowledge of Terraform/Ansible or other automation tools.

• Familiarity with Oracle GoldenGate replication.

• Oracle certifications (OCP/OCA/OCI Architect) are a plus.

• Strong communication and documentation skills.

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

• Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.

Salary Range
$60,000—$180,000 USD
