Position Summary:

As the Oracle DBA you are responsible for handling capacity planning, evaluating database server hardware, and managing all aspects of the database, including installation, configuration, design, and data migration. Additional responsibilities include performance monitoring, security, backups, troubleshooting, and data recovery.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage databases for various Production and non-production OSS/BSS systems.

• Monitor production and non-production environments, triage and resolve alerts. Perform database health checks.

• Interface with different workgroups including Tier2, Development, Technical support groups and Infrastructure to troubleshoot and resolve database issues.

• Perform database and SQL tuning.

• Mining workload repository for troubleshooting analysis.

• Using sql prepared scripts for fast incident management using command line.

• Develop and maintain automation playbooks, pipelines, scripts to automate DBA routines.

• Implement database monitoring scripts, agents and tools.

• Deploy database and application release, patches and configurations.

• Implement external databases authentication

• Securing databases with CSI benchmarks and

• Ability to configure database audit with further security/access violation analysis

• Perform database maintenance.

• Perform database backup and recovery operations.

• Be part of 24x7 on-call emergency support team.

• Provide knowledge transfer to newcomers and other team members

Competences

• Must be able to effectively work on tasks individually and in cooperation with other team members and adhere strictly to stringent SLAs, including mission-critical applications.

• Ability to troubleshoot complex performance and stability issues.

• Ability and willingness to learn and adopt new technologies.

• Effective and efficient communication in a stressful environment.

• Telecom-OSS/BSS or eCommerce domains experience is a plus.

Experience and Requirements:

• Extensive experience with RDBMS (PostgreSQL or Oracle DB) in highly available configurations.

• Performance issues troubleshooting experience.

• Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Terraform or similar). Understanding of Continuous Delivery and DevOps methods.

• Experience in managing databases in a containerized environment is a plus.

• Experience in implementing the monitoring of the production databases.

• Experience in supporting large scale, mission critical 7 x 24 solutions.

• Enterprise Linux systems administration at a level to understand principles of resource allocation and monitoring, system startup sequence, and system configuration.

• Understanding principles of TCP/IP, routing, application network traffic balancing and failover.

• Understanding principles of PKI/Certificates.

• Understanding of ITIL.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or mathematics.

• Fluent oral and written conversant in English.

• Business-like presence.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field
