Role Purpose
The Automated Testing Lead (Offshore – Mid-Level) is responsible for leading and coordinating automated testing activities for Oracle Cloud Enterprise Applications within Version 1’s Managed Services portfolio. Operating from the India Delivery Centre, the role focuses on automating regression testing for Oracle Cloud quarterly releases, ensuring system stability, quality, and risk reduction for live services. The role works closely with functional leads and consultants and acts as the offshore point of accountability for automated test script generation and execution.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead offshore automated testing activities for Oracle Cloud Managed Services, with a primary focus on quarterly and monthly releases.
• Design, develop, maintain, and execute automated regression test scripts using Katalon Studio (or equivalent automation tools).
• Own the offshore automated test backlog, coordinating script development, maintenance, and execution schedules.
• Execute automated test cycles aligned to Oracle quarterly release timelines and agreed customer schedules.
• Analyse test results, identify failures, and work with functional, technical, and environment teams to support defect triage and resolution.
• Ensure automated test assets remain aligned with configuration changes, quarterly updates, and new functionality.
• Produce clear test execution reports and dashboards for onshore leads and Service Delivery Managers.
• Support continuous improvement of automated testing coverage, prioritising high-risk and business-critical processes.
• Provide guidance and day-to-day direction to offshore testers contributing to automation activities.
• Ensure automated testing activities align with Version 1 testing standards, tooling, and governance frameworks.
Stakeholder Interaction
The role involves close collaboration with testing team, Environment and Release Managers, Oracle Cloud functional consultants, technical teams, and Managed Service Delivery Managers. Client interaction is typically facilitated via SDM’s, with the offshore lead providing detailed testing insight, execution status, and technical input as required.
Skills and Experience
• Hands-on experience in automated testing for enterprise applications, ideally Oracle Cloud ERP, HCM, EPM, or related platforms.
• Practical experience using Katalon Studio for test automation, or strong experience with similar tools such as Selenium, UFT, Tricentis Tosca, or Playwright.
• Experience automating regression testing in support of SaaS quarterly or frequent release cycles.
• Strong understanding of test automation frameworks, test data management, and result analysis.
• Experience working with defect and test management tools such as JIRA, Zephyr, or equivalent.
• Ability to analyse test failures and work collaboratively with functional and technical teams to identify root causes.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple test cycles and priorities concurrently.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, particularly in distributed and offshore delivery models.
Desirable Experience
• Prior experience leading or coordinating offshore automated testing teams.
• Exposure to Oracle Cloud quarterly release impact assessments and regression planning.
• Experience integrating automated testing into release management or CI/CD pipelines.
• ISTQB Foundation or Test Automation certification.
• Experience working within managed services or BAU support models.
