Lawson Lundell LLP is seeking a Litigation Legal Administrative Assistant to join our Yellowknife office. The successful candidate is an enthusiastic and hardworking team player who is capable of prioritizing and multitasking to successfully support our litigation lawyers. The regular working hours for this role are Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.
Standard Responsibilities
Draft, revise, and file court documents in accordance with the applicable Rules of Court
Maintain electronic calendars (schedule meetings, send invitations, book meeting rooms, etc.)
Maintain efficient file management and bring-forward systems
Maintain the electronic Document Management System
Track and meet deadlines and limitation dates
Open, organize, and close client files
Prepare and edit correspondence and legal documents
Prepare expense reports
Transcribe meetings and dictation
Time entry and assist with billing
Assist with travel arrangements
Provide general administrative support as required
Qualifications
Legal Administrative Assistant certification from an accredited institution
3–5 years of experience as a Litigation Legal Administrative Assistant is an asset
Knowledge of NWT litigation rules and procedures is required
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook
Ability to multi-task and solve problems in a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Sound judgment, professionalism, and the ability to maintain confidentiality
Strong verbal and written English communication skills
