Get to Know the Team

• Clickstream Intelligence Platform (Scribe) is Grab's in-house app instrumentation and insights platform that captures and analyzes user clickstream activity across all Grab apps. The platform supports observability, real-time personalization, and business analytics by processing tens of billions of events per hour at petabyte scale.
• Customer Data Platform (CDP) enables Grab Teams to onboard and register Grab's customer data and make it available for Online Serving, ML Models, Segmentation, and Real-time targeting to power personalization use cases across the company. Our platform is leveraged across many mission-critical Grab services such as app personalization, experimentation, ads serving, and marketing.

Get to Know the Role

We are looking for a Technical Lead for either Scribe or CDP team that has a strong breadth of different technical stacks:

• Web Portal: React.JS and Golang Backend.
• Online Serving: AWS infrastructure, MySQL, Redis, AWS Dynamo DB, Scylla DB.
• Data Processing / Storage: Apache Flink, Apache Spark, Trino, StarRocks, Hive, and Delta Lake.
• Applied AI / ML: LLM, Python Backend, Vector DB.

You will report to Engineering Manager in Singapore and work onsite at Grab Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia office.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• Build platform capabilities to facilitate scalable onboarding of user data that can be easily re-used across the company.
• Improve the serving capabilities of CDP's user data.
• Develop scalable real-time data pipelines and architecture that is cost efficient, while allowing non-technical teams to use these real-time capabilities.
• Lead an engineering team with diverse technical stacks.

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related undergraduate degree.
• Minimum of 7+ years of experience in Software Engineering with well-proven track record of leading an engineering team with diverse skillsets.
• Proficient in at least one of the following programing languages: Python, Go, or Scala
• Experience developing large-scale backend systems and has good understanding of technical trade offs and evaluations needed to allow high load, low latency systems, while maintaining system reliability and cost efficiency.
• Experience building APIs, working with OLTP DBs, and operating in a distributed systems environment.
• Strong English communications with prior work experience in regional and global environment
