Come join the team that literally serves Grab - Grab's Sentry team. You will be reporting to Engineering Manager II. The systems we oversee process billions of network messages for Grab's consumers every day, without fail. We work with the infrastructure, security, and product teams, and are looking for experienced engineers to join our platform team!

You specialize in building, operating and maintaining leading technology solutions that work 24x7 reliably. Built on world-class technology stacks, the software you develop brings our unique on-demand services experience to South-East Asia every day — be it transport, payments, food, or "the awesome things to come". Millions of people depend on the stability and efficiency your solutions provide, which is demanding regarding design and quality but also rewarding.

This role is onsite based in our Petaling Jaya, Malaysia office.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• Build and own Grab's Secrets Management Platform which serves hundreds of backend services that run Grab behind the scene.
• Work at Grab's Malaysia R&D Center, integrated with software engineering and product teams to help build rock-solid and secure solutions with the right interface, technology and practices.
• Be at home in a HA cloud environment and build scalable, zero-downtime solutions.
• Be a technical leader in the team, drive cross-team conversations and alignment, take lead of system and architecture design, improve and mentor young engineers in the team.
• Drive technical conversations and alignment with multiple teams.
• Independently drive projects across teams end to end, from inception to rollout.
• Find and troubleshoot issues in Grab's infrastructure and codebase.
• Implement quality solutions and maintain the high bar of standards for code reviews and deployment processes.
• You mentor peers and promote development and best practices while achieving excellent user experience.

What Essential Skills You Will Need

You are a good fit for the team if you

• Expert in at least one of C, C++, Go, C#, Java, Python
• Experience running critical services in AWS
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts
• Know how to build and scale systems
• Understand common patterns and algorithms to navigate different code bases for debugging and troubleshooting
• Familiarly with HashiCorp Vault or similar systems
• Experience with various networking protocols
• Experience with distributed system algorithms and protocols
• Experience with building monitoring and alerting systems
• Hands-on experience with Terraform and large-scale Docker / Kubernetes deployments
