🎯 The Role: Lead Backend Engineer
We're looking for a hands-on, experienced Backend Lead who can both drive technical excellence and lead a team of engineers. This is a rare opportunity to join an early-stage startup and influence architecture, scale systems, and shape product direction at the intersection of cloud, data, and AI.

You’ll work directly with the founders and engineering leadership to design backend systems that are secure, scalable, and cost-efficient — while also mentoring and growing a high-caliber engineering team.

🛠 What You’ll Do:
• Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of scalable backend services for our SaaS platform
• Own technical decisions across distributed systems, cloud-native workflows, and backend infrastructure
• Drive performance, reliability, and observability initiatives across core platform components
• Guide and mentor a growing team of backend engineers through technical reviews, goal setting, and career growth
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, frontend, and DevOps teams to deliver high-impact features
• Make foundational decisions around backend technologies, frameworks, and system design
• Establish and enforce best practices in software engineering, testing, and deployment
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, and fostering a strong engineering culture of collaboration and excellence
• Stay on top of industry trends, evaluate new technologies, and help set the technical roadmap

✅ What We’re Looking For:
• 8+ years of backend development experience (Java, Golang, C++, or similar languages)
• Proven expertise in designing and scaling distributed systems and cloud-native architectures
• Track record of technical leadership, mentorship, and team-building
• Deep understanding of backend fundamentals — data structures, networking, system design, and cloud scalability
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and performance optimization skills
• Experience working in fast-paced product-first startup environments
• High ownership mindset with strong communication and collaboration skills
• Passion for building clean, scalable, and reliable systems that last

💡 Bonus Skills:
• Experience with cloud data warehouses: Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Redshift
• Hands-on with AWS, GCP, or Azure in production environments
• Familiarity with containers (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
• Experience working with both SQL and NoSQL systems
• Exposure to building SaaS platforms or developer infrastructure
• Open-source contributions or active engagement in developer communities
