The Role

As a Junior Linux Systems Administrator, you will assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Linux servers and environments, ensuring proper functionality and availability. You will also participate in monitoring tasks, basic troubleshooting, and provide support to internal teams.

This role requires participation in 24x7 on-call rotations.

Work location: Barcelona
Hybrid work model: 2 days in the office and 3 days remote.

Responsibilities
Assist with the installation and configuration of Linux servers (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu).
Help maintain production environments to ensure availability and performance.
Support troubleshooting of technical issues and contribute to continuous improvement.
Participate in user and permission management, as well as security policy administration.
Keep documentation updated for installations and changes.
Learn and contribute to automation and optimization tasks.
Maintain clear communication and a positive attitude.

Who You Are

Technical and Professional Requirements
Desired experience: 1–2 years in Linux systems administration or related internships.
Basic knowledge of:
Linux operating systems (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu)
Shell scripting (bash)
Preferred:
Familiarity with automation tools (Ansible)
Basic virtualization concepts (VMware, KVM)
Basic networking and security knowledge
Interest in learning about:
High Availability and Disaster Recovery
Monitoring tools (Zabbix, Nagios)
Cybersecurity principles
Languages Required
Spanish
Intermediate English
Catalan
Education
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Preferred: Courses or certifications in Linux administration (e.g., Red Hat Certified System Administrator).
